This is great place we spend time with the children who love feeding the big fish seeing turtles and eating and drinking sweets. Money for development of something prestine would be great but never going to happen because it is free and open to public generating little income.

kaeng Leng Chan what a great little place great photo opportunities of the sunset. Also there's a fake waterfall and some other Thai buildings. Very popular with the locals and Fishermen. Good place for a picnic.

Maha Sarakham for me was a great place to spend the week, the food was fantastic and I only ever ate at the plethora of street vendors.
Take a trip to the night markets ,although there is little in the way of unique goods, the atmosphere is great with families out and about.
There is a half reasonable bar scene happening too along the canal in town and on Thursday night it was jumping,the various bars and eateries were overflowing with university students.
So in short when out and about in Thailand on holiday please don't forget the North East it is worth the effort.
Will I go back.....yes

Near the old City hall small and fast to see. The best way to see Mahasarakam is just to drive around every where.
