This museum is just one building, although it seems to be packed with elaborate, professional dioramas. However, the associated website was not clear about the fees. Current rates are about $8 adults & $5 children. The young lady at the front entrance was a very gracious hostess.

Van Cliburn Auditorium

This theater is home to the annual Texas Shakespeare Festival.

On my husband's birthday, saw Texas Shakespeare Festival Henry V performed its first night (check sked for other performances, think they run whole month of July).

We got bench seats $5 cheaper than regular seats that are $30 (attaching photos so you can see; before we went I couldn't find any really good shots of how they looked or worked).

Given how hot it was outside, appreciated the cool temps in the theater, a light sweater or such recommended though, for the cold-natured types. Eagerly helpful staff let us in on the secret that bench seaters didn't have to hunt the numbers on the tickets (ours were 14 and 15), told us we should just try to sit facing one of the aisles that go down in front of us and that way no heads in the way. We did that but I think at the height of our seats, heads weren't an issue anyhow. Still, nice of them to point out. Bench supposedly seats 25, think there must not have been quite 25 since no one had to sit crammed up against anyone else.

As another reviewer said, no remotely bad seat in the house. From our bench seats, felt we got as good as anyone front row center, given our elevation and the intimacy of the space. Easy to hear and see all.

The play was two hours with an intermission coming about an hour and 15 minutes into the play. You can only enter and exit during the intermission and we chose to leave at the intermission, great performance but we were tired from a long drive there, hadn't had dinner and anyhow we know the play.

Note concessions are only soft drinks and candy type items, no real foodage. We miiiiight would have stayed if they'd had even lowly nachos or hot dogs. Gift shop had great fest T-shirts, both with big fest logos on the front, and all sizes, or smaller logos up in the pocket square area for someone like my husband who would never wear a big, honking Shakespeare logo on a shirt. Also they had super cute Texas-shaped fridge magnets w/ fest logo, only 50 cents each, lots of other neat items too.

If you're wondering how to dress, saw all kinds, from dressy casual to ripped jeans. Husband wore shorts and a Rangers T-shirt with an unbuttoned shirt over it. He said a woman perhaps 80 looked him up and down, he thought disapprovingly of his highly casual and mixed-print outfit, but I think she only looked because he's cute.

Enjoyed the venue, hope someday to go there for something again. Nice folks. Gorgeous campus setting. Stunning homes all around it to look at too.
