Harkerville Mountain Bike Trails

Now one of my favourite short(ish) mountain bike trails - 24kms. You start in the beautiful natural forest and are quickly onto a sublime single track. Not too technical although there are some knarly roots to catch you out if your attention wanders. Then onto a jeep track before getting onto a concrete single track which takes you straight down to the cliffs overlooking the sea. A steep climb on loose rocks and then undulations on a jeep track before the trail goes back into the natural forest and onto a fairly technical single track before you return to the start. Best done with a fellow rider!

Kranshoek Hiking Trail

The Kranshoek Trail is a challenging but very beautiful trail. Starting at the Kranshoek picnic site at the top of a tall waterfall, then winds its way through the forest down into the gorge through which the waterfall's stream flows. It follows this stream towards the coast and then leads along the coast before going up the slopes to the plateau and back to the picnic site via the Kranshoek viewpoint. Distance: 9/ 4km.

A great hike around the shore line and hills. Highlights in march were the seals playing and beautiful beaches. Need to be pretty fit. Can do in trainers, but light boots would be better. Takes about 4 hours.
