Malarrimo Eco-Tours

We recently had the extraordinary experience of whale watching with my 86 year-old Mom with Malarrimo Eco-Tours. The weather was warm and sunny and the water in Laguna Ojo de Liebre was calm - perfect for our excursion! We saw at least one hundred gray whales - mothers, babies and young males - swimming, breaching, spying, and blowing. The highlight, however, was getting up close and personal with a young male and a seven or eight year-old female (she did not have a calf this year as they alternate years and help the other mothers with their offspring). They both loved the attention and we were so fortunate to be able to touch, love and even KISS them - it was the most amazing experience - for all of us! These gray whales are the most magnificent mammals and this safe lagoon provides them a perfect birthing and breeding ground. We HIGHLY recommend this experience to others!

It´s an extraordinary experience, howerver you have to be very enthusiastic to get the whales come close to your boat, if you are not in the mood for it you will see them very far. It could be just my personal believe but it works for my group. every body had the oportunity to touch the mamal!!!!

A haven for grey whales - definitely try to get to the visitors centre, take the first right going South after Guerrero Negro and go through the security gate (do not go left as we did - it's a scary detour and we were lucky to be directed back the right way!)
