Twin Sisters Beach

Reviewed By englishAtlanta

We read about Twin Sisters Beach on a "discover Eleuthera" site, and had it recommended by another Trip Advisor reviewer (LatitudeAdjustmnt). Interestingly, none of the local islanders we spoke to seemed to know what beach we were talking about. They thought we meant Gaulding's Cay. But this is not Gaulding's Cay, and it is a beach worth finding. On the Caribbean side, the water is shallow, calm, and it's a beautiful location. The beach was empty when we visited. We took our 3 kids (8, 11, 13) and they practiced snorkeling in the shallow bay. We were delighted to discover sand dollars cruising across the ocean floor. (Please note, these are LIVE animals and should not be removed from the ocean. You can go buy one if you want to take one home, but please don't kill these rare creatures). The beach is called Twin Sisters because of the twin pair of rocks in the bay. You can snorkel out to these and it is less than 6 feet deep- very easy swim. To find this beach is a little tricky. Other websites have said it is .2 miles south of Glass Window but I don't think it is that far. It is truly the first beach on the right south of Glass Window. You can glimpse it from the road. There is a pull off to the right of the road. A pull off means there is a place without bushes- it's not paved and doesn't look official. But it's perfectly fine to park there. Once out of your car, walk to the north part of this pull off and you will see a path through pine straw that leads to the beach. It's a short walk and truly one of the most beautiful beaches on Eleuthera. The Trip Advisor reviewer above states it is her husband's favorite beach and the snorkeling is great. Our children were starving so we had to leave before we could do much snorkeling. However, it will be the first beach we visit when we return to

Lover's Beach

We went there on bikes, and it took some effort. The waves were very strong, so swimming was limited. Beautiful ocean beach though.
