Saint Stefanos is a beautiful and picturesque chapel in the area of Galissas built among the rocks. The chapel was built by a fisherman who was saved from the tentacles of a large Octopus after praying to the Saint to help him. It is situated 15 minutes from the main beach from where a small path leads to the chapel. The chapel can also be reached by boat. Agios Stefanos is celebrated on the 19th of August and on December the 26th. Hordes of people visit the chapel to attend the liturgy. Following the liturgy all pilgrims are offered “loukoumi” the sweet local delights as well as mastic from Chios.

Galissas beach is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of the island. This is a fully organized beach which offers all kinds of comforts. Guests can swim in the crystal clear waters, relax on the golden sand, enjoy unique flavors in the taverns of the village and head to the chapel of Agia Pakou from where the view is magnificent. The beach is easily accessible either by bus or by private boat.

This was a great beach. Nice sand, sheltered bay, very shallow for a long distance so even those who cannot swim so well can enjoy it. I loved the walkway around it, you can also climb the hill next to beach to a church with a view of the beach and surrounding area.

Moto-Rent George company facilities are located in the beautiful town of Galissas, one of the most lovely and special in Syros.The company jointly opened the door to the public with George Rooms rental in the distant 1990 and continues successfully and thoroughly to this day. Due to our rapid and gradual expansion, we managed to comprise our fleet with motorcycles of small and bigger liter engines, bicycles, four-wheelers, buggies and UTVS ensuring the biggest variety of land vehicles on the island within a few years since opening There is a big availability in scooters and underbone motorcycles as much as in four-wheelers and UTVS. Engine sizes range from 50cc to 200cc in two-wheelers while four-wheelers range from 50cc to 450cc. Our equipment is mainly provided by several trustworthy companies such as Piaggio, Kymco, SYM and Daytona. Our fleet is being renewed on a fast pace and fulfills all the necessary requirements for the proper and easy use of the motorcycle.

I contacted Moto Rent George after seeing a poster on a notice board at Finikas Marina. At the time myself and my partner were distressed after having a boat trip cancelled for a double booking and decided that a day exploring the island by quad would be a lovely alternative. Unsure of whether this would be successful or not given the short notice we rang up and were pleasantly surprised. They were more than happy to help us and even refused our offers to get a taxi to their depot to pick the bike up; they insisted we sit back and relax at the nearby boat club and they would deliver the quad to us (a service I believe usually incurs a charge but not on this occasion!). From putting down the phone we went to the boat club and ordered breakfast, before our food had even arrived the MRG representative had arrived with our quad bike. It appeared to be clean, well maintained and in perfect running order despite the usage it must have had. The representative clearly and carefully ran me through the operations of the bike and within 5 minutes I had received the keys and was ready to go! We had the most amazing time exploring the island on a quad bike that was just powerful enough to manage the hills and sweeping roads but not so powerful that seemed unnecessary. A perfect little quad with plenty of storage room on the back for shopping, picnics or towels for whatever the plans of the day may be. If you are planning to explore the beautiful small island of Syros I would fully recommend Moto Rent George as the issuer of your chosen vehicle. Outstanding service, very fair pricing and simple/straight forward from start to finish. Well done to all at MRG.

Amazing beach with crystal clear water . A little difficult to reach as u have to go there either walking around the cliff or go from the side of dolphin bay resort ( going to the little church on the hill ) Paradise for nudism it looks very hippie there and u feel good to be free :) Some people do wild camping apparently behind the reeds . U will have an amazing sunset view from there , directly on the beach or from the path above to accès the beach
