The 5 Best Things to Do in Costa Teguise, Spain

August 16, 2017 Janette Largent

Costa Teguise in the Canary Islands doesn’t have a long history behind it—the resort area was developed as a tourist area in the 1980s. The sandy beaches are the town’s main attraction, but for a change of pace, visit the Fundacion Cesar Manrique, where you can see Manrique’s artwork and learn about this world-renowned local artist.

What a treat to visit this place, it reminds you of Gaudi in Barcelona or Friedensreich Hundertwasser in Vienna). A must whilst in Lanzarote. Don't bother about the other house in Haria. This is the best one. I will not buy it because it is not practical.

Went for a long walk past this beach. Absolutely georgeous and clean. The water is crystal clear but too cold for me.
Great there are inland coves for safe swimming. Beaches are so well maintained and clean. The UK can learn so much about people respecting the Beaches when you see it here.
Lovely

Can't fault the beach and the facilities, visited many times before but extremely disappointed with no beach beds on any beach in Costa Teguise. Apparently the Mayor is working to get them back asap but they were missed on our recent visit in January. Had to buy a fold up beach chair and leave it in the apartment as I am unable to sit on the floor. Will google before next visit to Lanzarote and whether or not the beds have been returned will influence our choice of location, shame as we really like Costa Teguise.

We booked the South Tour with First Minute Tours. This is a local company and half the price of Thomsons. Our guide, Pol I think, was amazing.
The volcanoes were stunning. You could see the tracks that the lava had made down the mountainside. Some of the views just took your breath away.
This is well worth visiting. They used some of this place for the film "1,000 years BC" with Raquel Welch. Also some scenes for the Star Wars movies. And for "Moonraker".
