Lake Claremont

Reviewed By JElliot32 - New South Wales, Australia

Lake Claremont is not exactly your picture-postcard variety of lake but it is a great haven for Australian native birds and a delightful spot where you can enjoy a bush environment only a few km from Perth's CBD. The lake is something of a work in progress and a dedicated bunch of local volunteers have taken on the task of restoring it to a semblance of the natural wetland is was a couple of hundred years ago. It was not all that long ago that the site had been used as a rubbish dump.
Today there is a walking track around the lake that is suitable for all ages as well as wheelchairs and bikes, and benches or areas of lawn where you can stop, rest and relax.

Claremont Quarter

Reviewed By JElliot32 - New South Wales, Australia

Claremont Quarter is a high-end shopping centre, anchored by DJs, and with lots of upmarket boutiques among its tenants. Parking is free for three hours and if you feel the need to escape the mall, down on street level the centre adjoins Claremont village, where there are more swish and stylish outlets to be found.
