Manchester Hill Winery

My husband and I went to this winery on a lark. We will definitely be back. The owner was pleasant and fun to talk to. The wine was fantastic. I enjoyed everything that we tried. The prices were very reasonable and it had a wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and buy a bottle of the new Chardonnay that he just made. It was excellent.

Ted Lewis Museum

Cannot say enough great things about this museum. Greeted by an incredibly interesting docent who knew EVERYTHING about Ted Lewis - the entertainer/musician who influenced thousands. His personal belongings were wanted by the Smithsonian and Yale University, but the wife said "no" - they go to Circleville! PLEASE do yourself a favor and check this place out - you'll need less than an hour and I promise it's worth the trip!

North Pond State Nature Preserve

Reviewed By Steve1362 - Avon, Ohio

The North Pond Nature Preserve protects about 30 acres of pristine, natural wetland nestled between Ward Road and Kelleys Island’s North Bay of Lake Erie. Through the preserve is a boardwalk stretching between the entrance on Ward Road to the beach on North Bay with a 0.4 mile (0.6k) loop along the way that takes one past North Pond and by an elevated observation platform for a total length of 1.0 mile (1.6k).

Camping at the State Park in early November, we walked east along the beach to the northern entrance of the preserve and took the boardwalk to the observation platform overlooking North Pond. Walking along much of the boardwalk was like walking through a yellow tunnel due to the intense autumn foliage. At North Pond we saw several dozen Mallard Ducks actively going about their business in the late afternoon sun and watched as a Great Blue Heron flew in and landed at the edge of the pond.

The walk along the beach and through the wetlands was very beautiful and relaxing on a nice autumn afternoon. However, the observation platform overlooking North Pond is not high enough to get over the brush nor close enough to get a good view of the waterfowl in the pond making binoculars a must to get the most out of the limited view.
