Dawki River

We 4 visited dawki river etc. Reached Guwhati ,assam, by air/train . Hired a cab (2000 approx) & reached shillong, capital of meghalaya 3 hours drive. There are also buses plying, but check frequency. Shillong chill place, night temp may drop to single digit, daytime moderate around 15 deg. Better take gud accommodation where u have heater & running hot water facility. There are veg & non veg food options. Best time oct , Nov, & feb , march. Dec is chill with more crowd. It s 1 day tour from shillong to dawki river, bangladesh border , Mawlynnog cleanest village of asia, living roots bridge, u can c my pics, cab charges 3000 and above .

India-Bangladesh Friendship Gate

Reviewed By 749devendrag - Gurugram (Gurgaon), India

This is international border between India and bangladesh, very close to river Dawki. One can club the visit to this place alongwith visit to river dawki in meghalaya. Always fascinating to visit an international border. Few points to note: 1. There is no parade or event here like wagah border 2.The approach road, especially the last 200 mts is not good. One would need to walk down the last part, 3. No eating points etc, near the border 4. Visit fairly early morning, otherwise it gets crowded
