Telethon Community Cinemas

Reviewed By KylieIsTravelling - Perth, Australia

Movies by Burswood is now known as Telethon Community Cinemas and has locations in Burswood, Murdoch, Bassendean and now Joondalup. It’s the only outdoor movie venue that is operated by volunteers for a not for profit charity, with all funds going to charity, predominantly Telethon. Movie prices are cheaper than the cinema at $14 for adults and $7 for kids, they have popcorn, pizza to order, snacks, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and coffees to buy. Tip - hire a beanbag for $6 each or take a blanket or chair to sit in. You can also take your own picnic hamper and make a night of it. They have a few special showings during the season including Rocky Horror, Grease sing along and Dirty Dancing, as well as new releases as well. It’s a great way to see a movie under the stars and support charity at the same time.
