Khan Sacy

Khan Sacy has undergone a series of modifications and tells part of the city's past. In its heart, it hides a much older story. This Khan is in the old city of Saida inside the City walls. It goes back to the Crusader period and then to the Mamluks. It is composed of rooms of a majestic height with three water wells, three hammams and an oven.

This is the kind of hidden gem that we love in Saida's old souks, where you push a small door with unclear expectations, and you find yourself wandering around in a beautiful Khan and taking a trip down memory lane. The beauty of the place is in its lighting, the water well, the hammams, and even the rooftop where you have a nice overview of the Souks terraces and roofs - although pay attention to the stairs that take you up .. The Khan used to be merged with the palace next door into the same house, and it gives another perceptive of the crusade's architecture, and the evolution since then.. I attended a nice concert there, and loved both the mood and the set up, both were very charming.

Sidon Souks

Reviewed By halcatra - Edinburgh, United Kingdom

It is a very nice, traditional Arabic souk. You can find a little bit of everything, clothes, souvenirs, local products, food, etc. For us it was the first souk we visited in Lebanon but not the last. It is a great labyrinth where you can get lost and found many times.
