The city is named in honor of Patrick Cleburne, a Confederate General. Lake Pat Cleburne, the reservoir that provides water to the city and surrounding area, is also named after him.

Plaza Theatre Company

Plaza Theatre Company is an intimate 276 seat theatre-in-the-round located in the beautiful Dudley Hall in the heart of historic downtown Cleburne, TX. The Company produces family friendly musicals and comedies year round. Now into its eleventh full year of production, PlazaCo plays every weekend of the year on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturday afternoons at 3pm. The Box Office is open Monday thru Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

Spent a glorious evening at Songbird Live in Cleburne Texas enjoying the music of Rene Ozuna and Friends! What a fabulous group of entertainers/musicians! I hope they come back here soon. More people in Cleburne need to learn about this great downtown entertainment venue.

We stopped into the Layland Museum and were impressed! The displays were wonderful and the staff was very friendly. A great place to visit to learn about the local history and history in general.
