We visited all Atlantic Canada on a road trip with our grandkids and we had planned to include this attraction as a part of our trip. It is easy to get to the Hopewell Rocks, and once there it is easy to see the attractions even if you have mobility issues. There is a shuttle cart runs every few minutes between the entry area and the Rocks. We used it ant it was very convenient. The observation platform is well positioned and provides an excellent viewpoint. Our granddaughter went down to walk in the ocean floor and was very impressed! It was fun to watch the ocean disappear and the ocean bed expand. This is a natural site that has been decades in creation and well worth a visit.

My family and I hit all the beaches and hot spots on the island and the beach at Anchorage was my favorite. Miles of sand and so peaceful. Afterwards we took a drive through the bird sanctuary which is beautiful as well.

We arrived late for our pre-booked rappel and they were so amazing about it. Got us in and going quickly as we were worried about the tide coming in and missing out. My 9 & 11 year old daughters rappelled with my husband. I hung out with or 3 year old at the bottom. He played with his trucks on the rocks and I watched him and the kids coming down. I could hear the instructors talking the kids down the entire way - they were amazing. Made sure my kids were safe and moving the right way, but also making sure they were having fun and enjoying the experience. There were kids zip lining while we were there. Looked super fun but we chose not to this time. The property is pretty hilly. I should have expected it but didn’t. However, lots of stairs to help. Overall the view is amazing and the staff were even more amazing. I can not recommend this company enough for a fun, exhilarating Experience. I was bummed that after spending a lot of money to rappel, we still had to pay for parking. It would be nice to have your parking comped if you rappel or zip line.

Mactaquac Provincial Park

Awesome Provincial Park on the banks of the St. John River. Facilities are limited (no official direct city water hook-up despite the fact that RVers will attach 4-gang diverters to the fresh water taps for their rigs. Electricity is almost at every site except primitive tent sites. There are several dump stations available at n/c for campers. Fire rings at every site and picnic tables with a choice of wooded site or field sites. Many of the sites are definitely NOT level so plan to bring levelers and shims as needed. Otherwise, GORGEOUS campground with hiking trails, swimming/beaches and Q-U-I-E-T (enforced). We stayed at site #120 (not wooded but VERY close to the beach with views of the river). Golfers rejoice - there is a championship course at Mactaquac! Small camp store sells firewood and basic essentials and candy/ice cream, etc. We will definitely return again and again!
