As of the 2010 United States Census, its population was 51,904. Novato is located about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of San Rafael and about 30 miles (48 km) north of San Francisco on U.S. 101. This park is a little hidden as it can be seen from US 101 but not very well signed to reach. We loved the history and the great hike on the loop trail. It deserves more visitors.

I live in the area and count myself lucky to have such a great area to hangout!! Great restaurants, wine ???? tasting, many, many shops candy stores, ice cream shops, there is something for everyone. Heck, we even have a Dive shop that recommended a great snorkeling location in Maui! If you come to Novato, come to Old Town/Grant Street. You will not be disappointed... Oh yeah, Carmen’s Mexican Restaurant... Definitely the Best, Truly Authentic Mexican food I have ever had!!! Next to my moms of course LOL
