The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) & Lachung Chu (River) meet at Chungthang in Lachung district. It is very beautiful as we clearly see two river meeting at dis place by 2 different colours. Lachen river coming from Lachen district and Lachung from Lachung district meet at Chungthang which a outside part of Lachung district. There is dam also to control water flow of both rivers. Water body color is great and ckean. Must watch place on the way to Lachung or Lachen as after this road divides into 2 roads which goes to 2 different districts i.e. Lachung and Lachen .

We spent some time birding in the thickets that surround the monastery (called a Gumpa locally) and it was a very productive session. We got the Sikkim Treecreeper and Maroon-backed Accentor there. Very nice thick jungle. The Gumpa itself is very typical of the N.Sikkim area with cool frescoes and carved woodwork. Well worth an afternoon visit
