To have a feeling of medieval times

Reviewed By 429marieg

This place is extraordinary; it is settled in a medieval village; it was part of a castle ( one tower is still there). It is very clean, unusual and cosy as you overlook the valley. The breakfast, served on the terrace is very varied and fresh. You will feel how the tunnels inside the castle were and think you are back in former times. There is an open air swimming pool and the view is fantastic! Let yourself be drawn away in time!

Stopped here with my fiancée and her mother and brother as a little tour of southern France and visiting Monaco. The hotel is incredible, beautiful surroundings, gardens and amazing clean and spacious rooms with views to die for. The breakfast that’s included was very nice and if informed will cater for dietary requirements. We definitely will be staying here again.

Basic, no-nonsense hotel within walking distance of Les Arcs train station

Reviewed By Fergus_NZ

This hotel does not hold itself out to be anything other than what it is - a necessary tool to use en-route through Les Arcs train station. Helpful staff, spartan rooms. No fridge or kitchennete etc facilities. No cork screw or bottle opener. Bring these if you intend imbibing. No glasses either, although you are provided with a plastic cup, which could do the trick for a glass of wine after an exhausting train trip. Breakfast is very basic. Mediocre croissant, a little tin foil butter and a couple of jams. Hot chocolate is on the menu, which is good for the non-tea/coffee drinkers amongst us. About 5 minutes easy walk to Les Arcs train station, which is brilliant for early morning departures .... The towels act as abrasives, so if you are fussy about comfortable towels, bring your own. The small TV requires 2 remotes to operate. get instructions before hotel staff leave you to settle in if you arrive at night. The hotel is un-manned except for normal daylight hours. The corridor can be somewhat noisy with drunker restaurant-goers arriving back late in the evening, or early morning train-catchers leaving in the morning. If you are sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs. Tiles on the floor of the room in which I was staying were broken, and tended to lift as you walked over the cracked ones. Pop the bath mat over these and the problem goes away. Only a little English is spoken, so bring your phrase book. No room service, no spa, no swimming pool. Very basic. Wi-Fi is provided and it is a good service, although occasionally fails. Sfter 20 minutes or so, you are usually going again.
