Nada que ver con las fotos

Reviewed By ilenia182018

Excellent stress free getaway

Reviewed By razvan161

Being situated someplace off the main road, up a hill, with a view over the surrounding hills, forests and old cottages, this place offers an instant disconnection from day-to-day problems and worries. Adding to this effect are the wonderful hosts that treat you as if you're family. I also want to mention that I had the best nigh sleep in months (don't know if because of the air, the bed, the company or all combined). Regarding meals, we have spoken to the hosts beforehand and arranged to eat breakfast and dinner on location, cooked by them, very tasty local food (and beverages :) ). All in all, if you want to lower that stress level of yours, pay them a visit.

Pensiunea Scarisoara

Very peaceful place

Reviewed By 341JanT

We did stay overnight to visit the ice cave the next morning. We did arrive around 4 PM over the small paved road. We did take short fully slim paved route from Garda de Sus. Google did advice the long, also slim, road but that is not needed. They do not have something as a reception but we after a short search we find the guy who could show the room and give the key. He did not speak English. After diner a English speaking did ask us if we need something. We did get a large room on the second floor with 2 beds, shower, toilet and a balcony the newer building. AC was not available and not needed. Downstairs there was a living room, kitchen (not in use), toilets and a terrace on the afternoon sun side. We did had ordered diner and breakfast. The diner, at 8 PM, was great. Very complete meal including some alcoholic drinks. After diner we did buy some beers. Breakfast, starting at 8:15 AM was very simple; mainly bread with jam and café/thee. While we were there, mid-September, we did see two other guests. The house The great point of this place was that it was quiet with late in the afternoon only cow bells. The road was 150m away. Three dogs and a cat were walking around the place. One the dogs did like attention very much. We did walk 1km over the small road to the ice cave, accompanied all the way by two of the three dogs of the hostel. One of the dogs did wait for us to walk with us on the walk back. I will strongly recommend this place if you want visit the caves of just enjoy the peaceful environment. We did get very much for very small amount of money.

La Pociu

This place has a lot of potential.

Reviewed By Piet d

I found La Pociu on recommendation from the local service-stations and it looked Good: just the kind of small, local place I like to choose to stay when travelling alone. The restaurant also looked ok, with a very nice terrace overlooking the water. Hotel + restaurant were bottom-price, the room was good, but the service and the food were below-average. Staff looks dis-interested and acts unmotivated, staff understands english but doesn't want to communicate much. I had the feeling I was interrupting their lives, rather than being a welome customer. They insisted on showing me the room and on payment up front. But they didn't want to include breakfast (you pay breakfast tomorrow…). The room was small but OK, Clean, mosquito-proof, and with good bathroom. No airco, but temperature outside was in low-twenties. The wifi-code was correct, but the router seemed disconnected from the internet (e.g. it doesn't work), my own phone helped. I tried having dinner on the terrace : lots of choice, but everything is “extra”, and quality and taste of the food was disappointing (badly done fries, and a piece of deep-fried “meat” trying to resemble schnitzel). The terrace is very nice pace to sit, but the music was too loud to sit+think (or communicate with locals) Sleep was Good (and no mosquitos, which is good for room close to water). In the morning, when I got out at 07:30, there was nobody to be seen, so I dropped the keys on the reception-desk and left. I was going to find breakfast somewhere else later. All in all an ok place to sleep, but not much more. It could be much nicer with a little more service, and possibly a little better food.
