The worst accommodation.

During the stay, that is 3 days, the garbage was not picked up from the room. On the third day it began to smell. I thought you were more civilized. The worst experience with accommodation so far. Instead breakfast was execelent.

Fair price, very clean, close to train station

I booked this hotel because I was searching for a fair price but with good connection to the city centre. I'm very happy with the stay and would book it again in future. There is a train every 7 minutes to the city centre and the hotel was very clean with friendly staff. I couldn't have asked for more.

This shouldn’t be called a hotel

Reviewed By traveller2223n

We booked two hotel nights in Hotell Årstaberg for our stay in Sweden half a year before our trip. About three months before our stay, I received a message about a water damage at the hotel, which caused our reservation to be transferred to Hotel Älvsjö. We approved the transfer, as based on our background check, the hotel appeared valid based on photos and reviews. The message mentioned that Hotell Älvsjö is one of ”their” hotels. When we arrived at the hotel, we couldn’t get inside. Despite several attempts, the door phone and the reception phone were not answered. Eventually the door opened and we were looking for a reception in a maze of dilapidated and cigarette smelling dormitories. Already at this point, we noticed that the reality is different from in the pictures. At the reception we were served by a senior man with an Asian background who had unsufficient knowledge of English and Swedish. I told him about our transfer to the hotel and the man seemed confused. He claimed he could not find our reservation in my name, so I told himabout the message from the previous hotel. The man said the hotel was overbooked, but after a long time he found a reservation in the system. Despite this, we did not have a room in the hotel, so he offered an extra spare room. The man’s arguments and opinions changed many times during our conversation, and we did not find his claims to be true. We asked for a discount because the room was said to be a spare room that was kept empty for situations like this, and it did not match the level of the hotel room we booked. The spare room we got didn’t match the marketing images in any way, nor did any other room we happened to walk past. The room did not meet any hotels’ general hygiene or equipment standards in any way, as it was unclean, windowless, and more reminiscent of a prison cell than a hotel room. The furnishings in the room consisted of two dirty mattresses laid on worn beds, and a trace of a shoe found on the other mattress. Only one towel and soap were found in the bathroom, as well as some moldy crevices in the shower room floor. No toilet brush, hair dryer, or any other hotel bathroom equipment was found. The shower head was the head of the bidet. There was fecal-looking secretion on the doors, and the walls were covered with runoffs of liquid and dirt. In addition to this, the sounds outside the room could be heard very loudly, which would definitely have disturbed the peaceful stay. The man refused to give the discount, so we suggested an immediate refund if we leave the hotel immediately. The man agreed to this, but when we returned to the reseption after getting our luggage, he agreed to refund only the price of one night's stay (we had been in the room for about 15 minutes). We had to argue with the man about the refund for a long time, and he seemed very nervous and aggressive. In the end, we managed to get the majority of the amount we paid, but not completely. We will wait to see if the money is returned to the account at all. Suspiciously he also asked my social security number, and claimed it necessary for the bank (we don’t know if this is normally required). We find the operation of the “hotel” to be very suspicious in every way. Without criticizing anyone, we did not feel, that the other hotel guests gave a neat or friendly image of themselves. Our experience at the hotel was short (thankfully) and hope that no one will fall into the same trap as we did.
