We found this mueum quite by accident when drivng out to the start of the Heaphy Track. Entry is by donation and you are able to wader around teh various exhibits at leisure. The museum is filled wth memorabillia of all sorts from the eary days of settlemtn in NZ and is such fun to see. For those of advanced years it is full of those "we had one of those' and " I remember that" moments. For the younger generation it's a great way to see how Grandma lived and how technology has changed our lives. It's abut 15 minutes from Collingwood and well worth the visit..

This was a very nice smaller museum. Awesome history and lovely stories. My wife and I particularly liked the one around the elephants. Lots about classic New Zealand. The museum definitely punches above its weight. When we went, they also had the moon exhibition on which was great to see. Definitely worth dropping in while in town.
