The 5 Best Health/Fitness Clubs & Gyms in Lake District, England

July 29, 2021 Enriqueta Cusson

Cumbria's valleys and fells (as the low mountains are known) are home to idyllic villages, high moorlands and picturesque lakes. Literary buffs will enjoy Wordsworth's Dove Cottage (go in March to see daffodils), and if you've got kids in tow, visit The World of Beatrix Potter. Or just enjoy a leisurely drive through beautiful scenery.

Excellent - I have visited Amethyst before the lockdown and after and cannot praise the girls highly enough. You wear a mask as you enter and are met at the entrance (which is now a different door so that there is an entrance and exit system), where your temperature is taken and questions regarding your general state of health are asked. These are all measures to keep us safe through Covid-19. The place is spotless and you are taken straight through to your treatment room. The girls all wear masks and face visors along with gloves. I felt extremely pampered, safe and relaxed at all times. The treatment as usual was just perfect and I instantly booked up for 4 weeks time. Well done all at Amethyst, you couldn't do anything more than you already are doing to make all your clients feel reassured, relaxed and safe. ????????????‍♀️

So enjoyed my recent visit for a spa day and treatment experience with Catherine. After visiting the pool and sauna my friend and I enjoyed a relaxing massage. We both felt cared and looked after in Catherine's experienced hands. The whole experience was lovey and great way to spend a Saturday with a pal and have a little pampering plus a stunning afternoon tea in the hotel. Can't wait to come back!!!

My first class after many lovely online sessions during lockdown was Restore on Tuesday morning. Only four of us in a spacious studio, and we brought our own mats. Easy to book online, studio is calm and beautiful, social distancing is spot-on. I felt safe.
