The beautiful Orthodox cathedral, near the King Nikola Palace, is located at Petrova Glavica. It is dedicated to the fallen Montenegrin and Herzegovinian warriors in the liberation wars against the Ottomans, and their names can be seen on memorial plaques in the interior, which was not painted with icons.
Situated against an almost vertical background, high up in the large rock of Ostroška Greda, this monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church is a pilgrimage sight for Serbs, Montenegrins and some other Orthodox believers in the Balkans. It reminded me of the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey in Catalunya as both pilgrimage sights are around amazing rocks in the mountain regions although Ostrog Monastery is of Orthodox Christianity tradition. I was very impressed by some beautiful mosaics there, especially some amazing ones in the rock on the top of the Upper Church as grounding there is not even. Paintings and icons also look very nice. It is a real heaven for all who love Orthodox and Eastern Christian art.
