Valley Caravan Park

Valley Caravan Park was established in 1945 by William A Taylor and has continued to be run by the same Cornish family throughout the years. The park boasts a wonderful location in Old Polzeath, just a short stroll from the surf and sand. Our aim is to make your holiday with us a happy and memorable occasion. A member of the family or staff will be available at most times during the day to help with the smooth running of the park and also for emergencies during the night. The Park is situated in a valley leading down to the sea, with the entrance only 200 yards from Polzeath's sandy beach. We have tried to keep the park as natural as possible, encouraging wildlife, especially the mallard duck - these nest on the site and with their young, freely waddle the park, together with other domesticated ducks, geese and moorhens. Due to the wildlife, we regret that DOGS are not permitted on the site (except guide dogs). We look forward to welcoming you

Brilliant

Just got back from a fabulous week staying at Valley Caravan Park. The caravan we stayed in was great, well equipped and clean. It was out of the school holidays so the site was lovely and peaceful. We definitely want to come back, we loved Polzeath it’s a lovely little town with some nice places to eat all within walking distance. Thank you to all the staff at Valley Caravan Park, can’t wait to come back,

Great site ?

Reviewed By sp00kj

This camp site is lovely, we came as a group of 6 adults 2 children 3 dogs and we all had a lovely stay. The pitches are great very level and grass gets cut nearly daily! Showers are immaculate and toilets, Angie the owner is so lovely and helpful and makes the stay a pleasure. Its quite a walk to the beach about 30 mins but so worth it. The bar/restaurant is so good, we had a pizza each then ordered one of every side and was far too much food but was absolutely lovely, prawns were something else and the pizzas were fab too! We will definitely be returning in the summer!

Relaxation and luxury views

Reviewed By kellyinbude

We stayed here last minute for two nights over a weekend, it’s such a beautiful site , but gets so busy in the summer so the end of the Easter holidays was the perfect time . We got a terrace pitch which was breathtaking , views where so amazing, the site was nice and peaceful , very relaxing and the beach is literally in the doorstep down the side of the smallish cliff. The site was so well kept and clean , staff where so helpful and friendly , even when we went wrong and missed the entrance they let us out of the carpark and explained where to go. The showers and toilets were free and open all the time , contrary to reviews on here, and they lasted ages and were clean and hot! There’s also two blocks available so plenty to go round, there’s a really nice laundry although the machines where very expensive to do a cycle, so I guess only if you really needed too on a longer stay. One little point we felt was the electric hook ups are positioned one to every 4/6 pitches which means that you have to go across a couple of peoples pitches on the terrace to hook up which felt weird and intrusive but we asked and they said go ahead it’s fine so not an actual problem but still felt odd! Yes it is fairly expensive but Polzeath is that’s just the way it is, the site is very much worth it for location and views , not many sites you can share the same view as people living in multi million pound luxury homes! Will definitely go again !

Traditional site in a great location

Reviewed By clairey16

Stayed here for three nights in August 21 after spending 7 nights on a more commercial site in Devon. We were joining friends who had already booked to the site due to its proximity to the beach and because it allowed dogs. It's definitely a more basic/traditional site but it was very peaceful, especially at night. Ten minute walk to Polzeath via the secure gate which was lovely as we like to abandon the car as much as we can once we arrive. Yes, shower blocks are a bit basic but it adds to the charm. Having left a commercial site with push-button showers which barely stayed on, we were more than happy to pay 20p for a lovely hot and powerful shower. It would have been better if the coin meters were on the inside though! I did not meet Sue on arrival but my husband did and said she was very friendly and helpful. Lots of cleaning and maintenance going on whilst we were there too. We were given a lovely pitch by the pond which had plenty of room for our caravan. The site guests were very friendly too and we loved the chilled atmosphere. Polzeath is a lovely town and the beach is stunning. Had a lovely meal at the Oystercatcher - they did very well serving 12 of us in busy times. Had a fantastic 3 hour walk around the Rumps too. Beautiful and scary all at the same time! We really loved the charm of both the site and Polzeath and we are hoping to return in 2022.

Shilla Mill Camping

A charming little site

Reviewed By AlanH526

Great location for access to Polzeath beach, 10 minute walk. The site itself is quite small, but well kept and meticulously attended to by the owners who were always on hand if required. Polzeath itself is a real 'Surfer' location with a good choice of bars and places to eat. If you can book a table at the Cracking Crab, do it to watch the sunset, very romantic. I think the site would benefit from fewer pitches with a more exclusive offering, although I understand that this is the direction they are going. A great little discovery with perfectly adequate facilities.
