The name Capua is now found in the name of the modern city, Santa Maria Capua Vetere. A few kilometers separate Caserta from what was a prosperous and lively city of Ancient Rome. The Campano Amphitheatre still stands out in its excellent state of preservation: it was probably the model for the Colosseum in Rome. Nearby, it is interesting to visit the Gladiator Museum, which still retains just part of the decoration of the amphitheater, along with showing a reconstruction of a real gladiator fight. Moving instead to the Archaeological Museum of ancient Capua, it is possible to observe the antiquity of the founding of the city. The Mitreo is a small treasure found almost by accident during an excavation for the construction of a building, is one of the most intact testimonies of the practices around the cult of the god Mitra: the frescoes and seating, still perfectly visible, push the fancy to travel back to the 3rd century AD.

Inclusions: Guiding service by a professional Archaeological Guide

Exclusions: Entrance tickets to the Archaeological Area

I have enjoyed several tours with Raffaele. All have been extremely informative and he has pointed out things that would have not been noticed without him. Additionally, his command of history helps make what we see understandable in context.

Real Tour vs Virtual Tour? We know, live experiences are always great but... usually a real guided tour of the Colosseum in Rome lasts 1 hour. During the tour you waste time: -waiting in line to enter the monument -at the security check -for a toilet break -for pictures time -walking time from a section to another You clearly spend most of your time in the Colosseum doing other things than understanding the Colosseum! Following our online Virtual tour: - you can have a 75 minutes full-immersion into the history of Rome, the Colosseum, the gladiators fights - your guide talks live! - you skip all the annoying waste of time of a real group tour - you can ask questions to the guide during the tour - you can understand the Colosseum from a 360° perspective, ready to get there for real as soon as you'll be able to travel to Italy - the guide can integrate his talk with hundreds of digital reconstructions, satellite views, photos of details that are impossible to use during a real tour

Inclusions: 75 minutes of online Virtual tour with a professional and licensed guide of Rome, 3D reconstructions, satellite pictures, detailed photos for a better understanding of the Colosseum, We'll send you the link to join our Virtual tour the day before the tour by Tripadvisor/Viator

We booked the tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum and it was absolutely incredible. Lello’s knowledge of both locations was second to none and he clearly has a true passion for the topic. We had a brilliant day and would definitely book further tours with Lello.
