Gambino Winery

On the eastern side of the Etna volcano, in the woods of the National Park and facing the sea of Taormina, the Gambino vineyards are a pleasure for your senses and for your heart. A Pleasure for your sight, because they represent one of the best models of Etna vineyards of high altitude: in an exclusive natural environment, at 800 meters above sea level, the vineyards lay on sunny and airy terracing that have a breathtaking panorama. A pleasure for your sense of smell, for the unmistakable perfumes of the volcano vegetation. A pleasure for your heart, because the vineyards and wine are great passion that, for over twenty years, involves and guides the Raciti Gambino family.

Set at the foot of Mount Etna, this winery was a great place to sample some excellent Sicilian wines. Along with our tasting, we were served some incredible nibbles (roasted peppers and eggplant, olives, a great selection of cheeses, bread, etc.) We were given several glasses of wine to taste, and each one was delicious. We were told about the history of the family vineyard and the various types of wines that Sicily produces. It was a fantastic visit!

Benanti Winery

Benanti. The high profile of Etna. We welcome our guests to our nineteenth-century estate, at the foot of Monte Serra in Viagrande. Our mission is to offer our guests an opportunity to become ambassadors of Etna wines, creating memorable experiences that communicate our territory and its centuries-old traditions via our wines. To do this, we accompany our guests around the estate, up the slope of Mt. Serra — an ancient volcanic cone sewn with vines — to see and touch our centenary vines of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. From the vineyard, we visit our old and majestic Palmento to learn about local customs and the winemaking techniques of our ancestors. Your experience continues in the historical former cellar, which has been transformed into a painting collection room for our selection of oil-on-canvas portraits. The wine & culture experience culminates in one of three guided wine tasting & food pairing programs: *"Get to know Etna" *"Contrade Selection" *"Library Vintages"

(March 2019) This stop was one of the highlights of our two week trip around the island of Sicily. Loved this winery tour where we learned the history of wine making in Sicily and how the business is being transformed since Guiseppi Benanti gave ownership to his two sons. Who grows vineyards on the slopes of one of the most active volcanoes in the world? Those that understand it’s potential for some of the finest wines in Italy and I am sure Benanti is a recognized name in the wine world. The tour and first wine tasting began inside where there are some original wine making equipment. We were served delicious bruschetta with this tasting. After a short walk through the vineyard we sat down for an elegant, 4 course luncheon held in a room surrounded by amazing art. Food was wonderful and wine exceptional. I remember that the Nobellese (sparkling), Nerello Cappuccio Red 2016 (my favorite) and Nerello Mascalese Red 2014 were all excellent. We will definitely return on our next trip to Sicily. I think you need to call ahead for tour.

Wiegner Azienda Agricola Puccetti Laura

Our winery is located on the north side slopes of the active volcano Etna, Sicily, at 750 meters above sea level. The location of our vineyards and olive grove dominates all the Alcantara valley and covers about 6 hectares. We are very near to Randazzo, the medieval town. The volcanic and calcareous soil, the altitude, and the climate produce wines that are elegant, intense and have a very long finish. We offer professional winery visits, wine tasting and/or lunch for small groups of winelovers. We produce wines from Nerello Mascalese (Etna indigenous varieties), Fiano, Aglianico (Italian varieties), and Cabernet Franc (international varieties). Our wine farm gives to the visitor a real full immertion of the wine tradition on the volcano.
