Not as advertised. I contacted the tour operator - Kostas of Korinthos Taxi Company - about a private tour of the historical sights in Corinth. A driver picked me up, and a few minutes into the drive to the Canal, I immediately knew I had been duped. He was driving very fast, and offered no explanation whatsoever about where we were going or any information about the Canal. After probing him, he informed me that his was not a 'tour guide' but a taxi driver hired to take me from one stop to the next. Regretfully, I decided to cancel any further engagement with this driver. After speaking to the owner, I paid the driver 10 euros for dropping me at the Canal, and sent him on his merry way. This so-called tour is NOT worth the 60 or so euros advertised. You are better off renting your own car from Athens and driving yourself, taking as much time as you need at each location. I was fortunate to meet a local woman at the Canal, who, along with her husband, voluntarily gave me the most fabulous tour of Ancient Corinth, and took me to lunch at a local restaurant in Loutraki, complete with a stop to enjoy authentic Greek desserts! Korinthos Taxi Services serves an injustice to travelers to Corinth. They have an opportunity to promote and share the great history of this city, but instead, leave visitors to fend for themselves. The best thing he could do, he said, was give me a guidebook to read - ha! That's what the internet is for. Not all visitors are interested in 30-minute photo ops; we want to understand, appreciate, and connect with the rich history of this amazing country. I would never recommend or patronize this business again.
