The 10 Best Walking Tours in Brisbane, Queensland

January 19, 2022 Jana Sager

Australia’s third-largest city, Brisbane is the hub of Queensland culture, offering a peek at the past and a glimpse into the future. Visit the historic Windmill and Old Commissariat Store, built by convicts in 1828, or fast-forward to the present (and beyond) with a trip to the new Gallery of Modern Art. Mingle with locals atop Mount Coot-tha, cruise the Brisbane River to South Bank’s sandy beach on the City Cat and make sure to fill the cuteness quota at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, home to koalas and kangaroos.

With the ever growing Brisbane Street Art Festival, there is always something new to be seen. We’ll finish at the internationally renowned QAGOMA Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art just in time for you to grab lunch and enjoy the rest of your day.   Alternatively, our guide will accompany you on the 10-minute walk back to the Queen St Mall.

Excellent tour. Highly recommend Lee-Ann's tour. She was so knowledgeable about so many aspects of Brisbane; its history, geography, architecture and art. She guided us through local parts that we'd never have found and gave us a real local insight. Lee-Ann and my husband (a Kiwi) had great conversations about political figures from Brisbane's past. Husband and I are both teachers and love history and geography and this tour was perfect for us. (We did tour in July 2017 but pregnancy/baby/toddler happened soon after!!).

Amazing experience smooth sailing all the way, thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. Neville, the driver to and from the port, was a lovely gentleman and fun to talk to, bones, the driver on moreton island and the man responsible for the sandboarding activity, was hilarious, josh and Jake, the boys in the water who led the snorkel tour and kayaking, were easygoing but also extremely watchful and vigilant, and did a great job making sure everyone was safe at all times. Great value for money, would recommend to everyone/anyone.

I was upset with service at the hotel and left early. The hotel has gone out of thier way to refund me and make amends. That demonstrates good management that listens. I commend them for that
