We called in as I was collecting stamps along our Route 66 trip and this is a stop. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and they even took our photo to post on their Facebook pages, such a really nice touch.

Very cute little museum in the visitors center that includes a replica of a keel boat that Lewis and Clark would have used for supplies. Lots of information and very helpful and friendly staff members. We were just in town for a short time, but since we love to look at old homes and architecture, they had a wonderful Boonville Walking History Tour Book with colorful pictures and descriptions of the notable homes in the area. We drove around looking at them and reading the history behind each one. That booklet is a real treasure at only a cost of one dollar. We drove past the casino, the riverfront, and the old Cooper County Jail - but we were there too early to tour it or go inside the hanging barn. Definitely plan to come back when we have more time to spend exploring.

Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center

Ste. Genevieve's downtown area National Historic Landmark District offers visitors a rare glimpse into a French colonial past. Mixed in with the historic homes and attractions are great restaurants, quaint shops, a candy store, ice cream parlor and winery. Narrow streets and fenced gardens surround some of the most significant 18th Century architecture in America.

We were in KC for my son's wedding and had some spare time. We so enjoyed the Hallmark Visitor's Center and learning about the humble beginnings of the company. We love Hallmark movies and products. This gave us a new appreciation for the company. The short film at the beginning is a great way to start your tour. The museum itself is filled with such great history, not just of Hallmark, but of our country. So much of the history is intertwined with Hallmark products. I would highly recommend spending some time here.
