This library is state of the art with wireless hookups, audio books, music, videos for loan and interlibrary loan. There is artwork and local writers materials are posted front and centre. There are magazines and online courses and resources for the measly price of a $5.00 fee. The library is on 3 levels and boasts a signficant amount of local historical materials, books of all kinds, places to sew, take in the sun and just enjoy being in a library. Well worth a rainy day stop or a chance to breathe during your trip. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Parking is a bit of an issue but the grounds are also pleasantly presented with benches and flower beds as well as literary path stones to read. Come spend an hour with us and see whatever will be will be.....

Jasper Information Centre

This historic building houses the visitor's center for Japer National Park.

The weather was wet and cloud cover low so we visited the information centre for suggestions of things to do in the drizzly rain. The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and keen to help the visitors. We left armed with a trail map marked with the recommended hikes and some bear spray in case our walks in the woods stumbled across a bear - we didn’t although did see bears by the roadside from our car. The parks staff have all the latest information on areas closed due to animal activity so a good place to start any trip to Jasper.

Alberta Legislature Building

The majestic Legislature is one of the most iconic buildings in Edmonton and a must see when you are in the city! Built in 1912, in the Beaux Arts style, the Legislature is the seat of the government in the province. The historic building is open 362 days a year. Friendly and knowledgeable Heritage Interpreters are always pleased to take you on a tour and introduce you to Alberta's legislative process. Just north of the Legislature, you will find the Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre. The centre is home to the Borealis Gallery, Pehonan Theatre, Agora Interpretive Centre and Capital Gifts shop.
