A major centre of Etruscan civilization that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, the Necropolis stretches for more than two kilometres. This certainly makes it the most imposing in all Etruria and one of the most magnificent monuments of its kind anywhere in the Mediterranean basin. These monumental tombs are located inside tumuli, partly cut into the tufa rock and partly built over it. The purpose of theseedifices was to illustrate the desire of a handful of aristocratic families to make a statement about their wealth and to perpetuate a lifestyle of the highest quality also after death. This may explain the abundance of luxury goods found in these tombs, such as tableware made of precious metal, goldsmith’s work, illustrated vases, bronzes and pieces imported from Greece and the Near East, as well as weapons, belts, razors, buckles and jewellery. Minimum passengers required for this tour 6 people. On Monday all the museums in Italy are closed for day off

Inclusions: Fuel surcharge, Local taxes, Live commentary on board

Civitavecchia-Tours gave our group of 14 a magnificent tour of Pompeii and Sorrento. We were met at our Rome hotel at 7:30 am and driven to Pompeii in 2 minivans (7 people per van) and were given a 2.5 hour professional tour of Pompeii. Then, we were driven to Sorrento where our driver, Maurizio, made lunch reservations for us at a wonderful cliff top restaurant overlooking the harbor and the island of Capri. After 3 hours in Sorrento, we were driven back to our hotel in Rome. The trip lasted just over 11 hours and was worth twice the price. Civitavecchia-Tours has the best prices and excellent service.

I was in Santa Marinella and had the pleasure to take some lessons in surfing with PositiveKite. The teachers are very friendly, patient and pay attention to safety in the water. Not only for me also for people around, so nobody gets hurt. They overview everything and gave me the feeling to be in good hands. Also they don’t put you in bad conditions as a beginner surfer. They chose good waves and you just need to focus on standing up on the board and feel the fun. Also the area around is really nice. Not only the beaches in Santa Marinella, Santa Severa as well is a beautiful place because you have a view on the old castle, an impressive building that looks kind of lost. The weather in summer is amazing. Warm water, no freezing, warm wind. Good to surf. The boards are perfect for beginners. Your lesson will take one hour and then you should be able to stand up. The teachers do everything to make you feel comfortable in the water and on the board. PositiveKite is also focused on kitesurfing, windsurfing and SUP lessons. Filippo, the owner of the school, is a very kind and friendly person. Always happy face and good mood and ready to teach. Also the other coaches Tommaso and Jorge are very good, I saw them teaching kids how to surf and it was very impressive. I really liked it there and I highly recommend this professional school for watersports.

I just had a fantastic bike tour with Emanuele in the beautiful nature around Santa Marinella, and have seen the areas I would never have found on my own, and were told the historic facts my “Guide to Rome” book doesn’t tell. Emanuele is very passionate about his job, very friendly, humorous, knowing and speaks english fluently. His bikes are nice new KTM eMTB’s which worked flawlessly both on on the steep hills and when we were going offroad. After the bike tour we had a delicious neapolitan street food and a beer at a cosy plaza in Santa Marinella. All in all this Santa Marinella e-bike Tour is highly recommended!!! If it’s possible in any way I’ll do Emanueles “Good morning Rome!” as well, before going home. :-)
