This tour was by far the best experience I have had yet on Trip Advisor! Andres was extremely friendly, passionate and scholarly. He was easy to talk to about anything! All the information he gave us was very interesting and educational. I personally don’t even like coffee, and I still really enjoyed this tour. My boyfriend loves coffee and loved the tour as well. Andres took us through the entire process of making coffee from planting the seed to the different methods of extracting. It was amazing how many flavors you can achieve from the different extraction methods. He took pictures of us along the way so that we could focus on enjoying the experience. The local family he works with were very hospitable and offered us drinks and food along the way. I could not have asked for anything more on this tour. 5+++

It is just history, we do not glorify. Beyond visiting the iconic places in the life of the drug lord, we focus on discussing different points of view around the country and the problems related to drug trafficking. Our purpose is the understanding of such scourge and its impact in our country, and the process Medellín has gone through in order to become an innovative and safer city.  We do not glorify Pablo or see him as a hero, we simply seek to understand the political, social and economic context of that time. From the place where  you are staying, we go to: - The Cathedral (a former customized and luxury jail) - The cemetery (where we will discuss on his family and the closest people) - The memorial square (where we will talk a little about some versions and points of view around Pablo). Optionally we can stop to grab some snacks Daily tours at 9:00 am or 1:45 pm

Inclusions: All taxes, fees and handling charges, Professional guide, Pickup and drop-off from designated meeting points, Transport by private vehicle

Exclusions: Drinks, Food and drinks, unless specified, Lunch

If you are visiting Medellin for a short period of time and want to be in contact with beautiful and pristine nature this is your tour. It combines a fun ATVs experience riding in trails covered by vegetation and great views and then a small trekking (included but optional) to a beautiful waterfall before heading back to the car and from there to the coffee farm. Once we get to the farm we experience a warm greeting from the farmers and a delicious traditional lunch cooked and served with many organic ingredients grown in the farm. After we recover energy we start with a thorough contextualization of the coffee industry and production. After the theory and a question-and-answer session we start to participate in every single step of the coffee process: picking the beans, depulping, washing, fermenting, drying, threshing, roasting and grinding. In conclusion, this is an outstanding tour filled with fun and a lot of interesting information that you should not miss out!!

Inclusions: Delicious traditional lunch cooked and served in the coffee farm, 4 premium coffees brewed in a different method each time., Insurance, Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle

It was fate that brought me together with The Medellin Traveler, but it was the highest level of service, attention to detail, and just plain fun that I will always remember. I booked a tour to Guatape that also included paragliding. Jose, our driver and guide, sets the bar for professionalism & safety, and you simply cannot ask for more. From easy communication to on-time pick-ups, his ability to accommodate each guest as-needed, to his extremely high emotional intelligence or generally great personality, I cannot imagine my time spent in Medellin and Guatape being any better, and it is in no small part thanks to The Medellin Traveler. Their in-depth knowledge of the areas was told through stories (and patiently answering my endless questions), instead of like most tour companies that feel like they are reading from a script and aren't invested. I didn't have to worry about a single thing except to have the best time I could and soak in all of the fantastic culture. Every small detail was looked after, and payment was (which in my experience is seldom easy) super simple. I cannot recommend more highly, and if your experience is anything like mine, it will be one you'll never forget.
