Chris was filling in for Marcus on our tour, and we had an amazing time! My parents were visiting Oregon from the East Coast for the first time, and I wanted them to see a different side of Oregon. Chris dazzled us with his impressive knowledge of the region, as well as the science and artistry involved in winemaking in the Willamette Valley. The drive was beautiful and we saw three wineries, each off the beaten track and each with their own unique personalities. The landscapes were breathtaking, and we became experts in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Lunch was from Elephants Delicatessen in Portland and really hit the spot - my boyfriend and I will definitely go there for ourselves sometime. It was a great way to relax, learn more about Willamette Valley, and spend time with family, all under the guidance of a friendly and approachable expert. A perfect way to convince my parents to move out West.

Mt. Hood is the highest summit in Oregon, and the fourth highest in the Cascades. It features waterfalls, glaciers, and historic Timberline Lodge, built by local artisans during the Great Depression, and featuring the longest ski season in the US. To the north of Mt. You will get intimate with this area through a visit to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, wine tasting, and a stop at Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon. Your expert guide, with formal background in ecology, natural resources, and wine, will teach you about the natural history, cultural history, and wine background of the area, as you drive the Mt. The 80 miles of the Columbia River Gorge’s steep rocky sides offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the world: pounding waterfalls, eagles, century-old trees, ferns, flowers, ancient rocks. This half-day of exploring and meditating on wonders with very short hikes and visits to overlooks and vistas will have you gasping in awe. We'll visit waterfalls and overlooks, selected by our guides to include both the most iconic, like the unmissable Latourell Falls, a stunning plunge-style falls that is one of the most iconic in Oregon, and the special. Depending on weather conditions, this could include a few small hidden waterfalls and another spectacular plunge-style falls with columnar basalt. We'll also tell you stories, not just of the geology and botany and the oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and animal spirits and the Beaver princess tragically turned into a waterfall.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, We'll bring reusable bottles if you've left your own at home!, Snacks

Exclusions: Gratuities (always appreciated by our passionate guides!)

First thing is first: you must have ridden a bicycle before before booking this trip. I myself am not a biker and neither are my wife and friend so we were all a little rusty but we did just fine. Biking around really is the best way to get to know a city and our tour guide, Ana, was so awesome! She had great local knowledge and was more than happy to talk with us and share tips for things to eat, drink, see and do around Portland. This was a lot of fun and I highly recommend!

People love to look at the Downtown Portland skyline from the International Rose Garden, from the Eastbank Esplanade, or while driving past on I-5 through the city. There’s something special about this skyline, especially at night, that we all seem to love. This was a great way to see a bunch of Portland's most famous cuisine in one go. Four stops, all delicious in their own way. Bo was hilarious and the tour was a great way to spend 2 hours in the morning walking around the city. The tour is approximately 2 miles long and linear, so you end in a different section of the city than it begins.
