This Fitness Bike n’ Hike is not for the faint at heart but most definitely for the fit adventurers among us. Your expedition starts with a 3.5 km northward heading hike beginning in Maycocks, St Lucy, along the untouched coastal cliffs frequented only by night fishermen from the local village and finishes at North Point Lighthouse at Harrisons, in the same parish. It is at this point we pick up the e-Bikes and begin a 20 km ride though rural St. Lucy featuring, quaint chattle houses and fast double track through sugar cane fields where the world famous Mount Gay Rum is made. The experience culminates at a secluded beach cove for some well deserved adult refreshments. If you are not prepared to sweat a lot, scramble up steep inclines, walk on sharp rocks at times, get a bit dirty or ride fast-ish then this probably isn’t the tour for you. If you are up to the challenge this will be your greatest Barbados experience EVER!

The Atlantic Coast Train Line: Hike & Bike: This tour takes in part of the Barbados Railway train line that existed between Bridgetown and Belleplaine, St. Andrew, in the late 1800s. The hike portion of the tour, 6 km total along the rugged East coast of the island, begins from the sleepy fishing village of Tent Bay and is characterized by the stunning scenery of the Scotland District that is so wonderfully different than any other part of Barbados. The hike ends at Bath Beach where we begin our e-bike excursion that takes you along hilly double track through the picturesque Conset Cutting, along the coastal cliffs of Fortesque and eventually to a scenic overlook with an incredible view of Culpepper Island. The ride finishes back at Bath Beach with legendary rum punches and a dip in the sea.

Beginning at Bath Beach, this 6 km trail traverses along the rugged Atlantic East Coast of Barbados and can be done as a run or a hike depending on what you like. The trail, known as the Bath Trail, was once the route that the old train took that ran from Bridgetown to Belleplaine in the 1800s. Ending in Bathsheba, an East Coast fishing village, named after “Bathsheba” the wife of King David, the views are breathtakingly beautiful; wide white sand beaches stretch along a dramatic coastline of striking rock formations against which the Atlantic rollers break in cascades of foam. What at first glance look like huge boulders washed up on the beach are actually rock formations broken away from the ancient coral reef! The terrain varies quite significantly at times making this route fairly challenging but one that is more than memorable.
