Tomas was easily one of the best tour guides I've ever had. Incredibly knowledgeable, and super friendly he did everything to make the tour perfect. And the work being done at La Escobilla is so important, it's a great opportunity to support a wonderful cause. And of course the baby turtles are absolutely adorable!! I couldn't recommend it more!

My friend and I booked Tomas for a tour up to Llano Grande falls. He picked us up at our hotel at 8:30 and then we travelled the 2 hours up to the falls through little villages along the climb up the mountains. Tomas was very knowledgeable about the area as he is from this area. He pointed out different species of trees and plants along the way, and even took a picture of a tree so he could find out later what it was. He's always striving to learn new things and increase his knowledge. Although the trip was long and bumpy, Tomas drove very carefully and slowly which was much appreciated.(newer very clean air conditioned car) Contrary to past things I have heard about this trip to the falls, there is no " awful drop off" from the road, at least I didn't see any. The road has been improved over the years, and more and more is being paved, especially through the villages. We stopped a couple times along the way, once to pick up a 'treat' from a local store, which turned out to be tostadas that are flavoured with coconut and chocolate I believe. When we stopped to have coffee, we dipped these into our coffee. The restaurant we stopped at for coffee (which was to be our lunch stop as well) sat beside a beautiful stream that flowed past as we sipped at our delicious coffees. When we arrived at the falls, Tomas was sure to mention that we should take the available walking sticks to help with our walks down to the falls. It was an absolutely beautiful peaceful magical walk down the path beside the river to the falls. Tomas was always watchful that we were managing the somewhat uneven pathway (lots of tree roots etc that could trip you up if not watching) and helping where needed. Tomas was sure to point out the various butterflies along the way, each specific area had different species. One in particular was the glass-winged butterfly- had clear wings outlined in black. He managed to get a picture of one (which he was happy to share with us). Once at the falls, we were free to do what we wanted for as long as we wanted. He was always nearby if we needed help or had questions. At the falls you can swim behind the falls, it takes a minute to get past the rushing falling water, but it was not a problem for me (and I'm not the best swimmer by far). It was really fun to get behind the falls, Tomas was already there and took pics (which he shared of course!). The area where the falls are is shallow for the most part, and you can sit in little 'pools' like having a whirlpool. There are a couple young ladies at the falls applying clay masks if you wanted (for free), which is the red clay from the local mountain. It dries, then you rub it off, then rinse. My friend and I both were surprised at how soft our skin was afterwards, and ended up buying some when we met the young lady at lunch again. We stayed approx. an hour and a half at the falls, then went to lunch (you can stay as long as you like, Tomas was very flexible with the day). Lunch was excellent and included chicken mole, which was the first time I'd tried mole; such a combination of wonderful flavours. We had time to visit 2 little shops in the area also which had local herbs and medicines, local soaps, nuts, chocolate, mezcal etc. It was so nice to be up in the mountains, at these lovely little local shops learning about everything they had to offer and how it was made. I would highly recommend Tomas for any tour as he is very knowledgeable , patient, considerate and flexible. Excellent English, he even had brought along cold water and beer in a cooler for us, made sure to check if we needed bathroom breaks every so often. Make sure you only bring one bag along with you to the falls, and water shoes if you have. To walk the path to the falls you should have something a little better than flip flops. There are quite a few steeper steps down to the falls (and back up again), so people with difficulty walking and stairs might not be able to do this tour. We were back at our hotel by 5:30.

My family and I spent one week in Huatulco and aside from the amazing beaches here we wanted to experience something authentic from this region. We were recommended this tour by our friends who live here and we are so glad that we booked it on our last day here. Be prepared for a long day, but the day will be so worth it. In the morning the driver arrived on time to pick us up. We were the only guests so we felt like this was a completely private tour just for us. The chocolate factory was something special, and we bought a bunch of tasty cacao treats. Just make sure to bring a cooler. Our driver offered to keep our chocolate cold for us throughout the day. Mazunte is such a special place and we are already planning to come back and stay in Mazunte for a longer time. The cute alleys with their little restaurants and cafes beckon you to sit and observe Mazunte life. We will be back soon! The tour kept getting more amazing as we entered the estuary of La Ventanilla. Our guide was so sweet and he spoke perfect English, which for us was important. He explained to us everything about the estuary and the wildlife that he spotted for us as the boat glided through the mangroves. The day came to a culmination with the Turtle spawn. We were all blown away by this natural phenomenon unfolding in from of our eyes. We saw hundreds of turtles crawling up the beach to dig their holes and lay their eggs. What an experience. We are so glad we came on this tour and we were so sad having to leave beautiful Mexico! The value of this tour is exceptional. Do yourself a favor and book this tour!

It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Silva was a great horseback riding instructor. Thankfully, I was the only one on the tour so it was a one-on-once tour, which allowed me to get all the attention I needed from Silva, plus because it was a remote and sacred beach, we literally had miles and miles of the beach to ourselves, which is nice since we are still in a pandemic. It was remarkable how I was able to bond with the horses, and get comfortable with galloping and experiencing riding bareback and most especially getting to watch the colorful vivid sunset with the horses. Silva took tons of photos and videos and ensured the experience was the absolute best that it could be. I'm so glad I did the tour and I would definitely do it again.
