We rented trekking bikes for five days to cycle around Venetia. The bikes were well-equipped and Gianluca was very friendly ! Would definitely do it again !

I did the morning trip on the Burchiello boat along the Brenta Canal to Oriago. You can go all the way to Venice and/or do the trip in reverse but I only had time for half a day. It was easy to get back form Oriago on a local bus. One could either sit in air conditioned comfort and miss most of the view or sit up top in the sun, ducking under bridges and seeing small villages and mainly plain or damaged Venetian farm houses/holiday homes. The guide was excellent in telling us what we were seeing and the history of the area in 4 languages! Very impressive. We had 2 stops along the way. The first, was Villa Pisani, a Doge’s palace built in the 18th century. The second villa, Villa Widmann, was smaller in scale but with some wonderful frescos, some worn garden sculptures and a labyrinth
