You will encounter a complete change of climate, landscape and wildlife by travelling a small distance in Sri Lanka. In this tour, you will experience a dense Rain Forest, with sun light deprived surfaces creating a gloomy, mystical vibe. Experience the vast array of different living species that calls home to these forests. Enjoy a safari through a dry and sunny wildlife park housing the iconic Sri Lankan Leopard as well as the majestic Indian Elephant among other creatures. Bathe in the Indian Ocean and walk in its golden sandy beaches and also meet the amazing marine life residing in it. Sri Lanka is a tropical paradise waiting to be explored.

Ashiq Aswar is a superb tour guide! Him and Rizni took my family around on a tour of Colombo that included shopping and then a tour of the outskirts of a bee farm, spice gardens a private tour visiting and riding elephants. We had a great lunch in a clean and air-conditioned restaurant. The van was clean and comfortable. They picked us up and dropped us back. This trip was actually in the early part of last year in spring, but the calendar on Trip Advisor only goes back to summer of last year. They were very attentive, very caring and personable. I would highly recommend Ashiq and Kingfisher tours to anyone visiting Colombo, Sri Lanka ????????

The park offers everything that is needed for an exciting safari. Great landscapes, many animals, especially elephants! We were very close to the elephants and were very lucky to be able to watch a whole herd and also some baby elephants. I booked this class as I wanted to know more about Sri Lankan dance styles- and I got much more by learning so much about Sri Lankan culture as well. The class was very good, experienced and learned basic steps and hand moves, and got to play the drum as well! The organizers are professional and the ladies are absolutely fabulous! If you have the chance you definitely should try this.

I took the road less travelled by…and that did make all the difference (with apologies to Frost). Having seen Sigiriya and Pidurangala from their conventional sides, the opportunity to see them from another, and from the water, was too good to miss. The lake waters were receding, and the boatman rowed and poled us through a narrow channel of submerged viperine roots that snarled the poor man’s every effort, but progress we made, slow…and as it should be. For the channel was lined by ancient trees and swamp scrubs that teemed with birds and butterflies and dragonflies of every imaginable hue and colour. Stork-billed Kingfishers, the tiny Common Kingfisher, myriads of water birds, and a majestic White-bellied Sea Eagle all flitted about, with the latter looking disdainfully down at us from its treetop perch. Then, after a while, we broke out into the clear, still waters of the lake that mirrored the towering rocks that still give taste, to the present, of ancient human glory and creative magnificence. Surrounded by tall forest trees whose topmost branches now reflected in the soft light of the evening sun, there was no better place to be at that moment in time, on any place on Earth. It was perfect. Maybe the next time, they will take me on the night of a cloudless full moon…!
