The plateau is the business district of Abidjan, nicknamed the "Ivorian Manhattan". But although it is the administrative and financial center of the country, it also has incredible but often overlooked tourist assets. Our volunteer guide takes you to meet the merchants and artisans of the neighborhood, to discover it in another facet!

Desirée, Anezy are the winners and winners of the DUST training, a training that allows them to develop solidarity tours to promote their region. Today, they have designed an alternative City Tour which will make you discover Grand-Bassam and its inhabitants with a fresh look, in particular through a mini tour and an encounter with craftsmen who make the particularity of Grand-Bassam. In this small town not far from Abidjan, you will quickly be seduced by the astonishing diversity of the heritage, the refinement of its inhabitants, as much on the general behavior of their environment and their habitat as on the quality of their welcome. You will hear everywhere: “Akwaba, welcome”. Our guides therefore hope, thanks to this tour, to open the doors of this charming and unique city to you through a city tour followed by a Pottery workshop.

Inclusions: Bottled water, Private transportation

Exclusions: The tour includes the option of having lunch in one of the restaurants after the Pottery workshop but lunch is not included in the price

In addition to the basilica, view of the presidential palace, visit to the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation for Peace, and Crocodile Lake, we can visit a cacao plantation (3 km from basilica), artisanal village (20 km from basilica), the golf course (1 km from basilica) or have lunch together.

We are Americans living in Côte d’Ivoire. Yamoussoukro is a must whenever we have business partners or friends visiting. We always reach out to Jean-Luc for our tours of the beautiful Basilica and other sites in and near this unique political capital. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and also funny! His English (and French) are great. The tour is included with the 2500 CFA basilica entry fee - but visitors grab him quickly so reserve with him on Trip Advisor. As a guideline, please consider a 10000 CFA tip for two people- he works hard and makes sure every guest learns the hidden secrets of this amazing site !!! You can also book him for a city tour - have fun!
