We spent Monday through Thursday at Harvey's and the casino was pretty empty, probably to be expected. They did close some tables in order to fill the remainder that were open, I guess this was a good idea. the staff was very friendly. always greeting me with a Good Morning or Hi there.

Cave Rock

Located along U.S. 50 (Lincoln Highway), this is sacred ground for the Washoe Indians.

Reviewed By kasejason - Chicago, Illinois

We visited Cave Rock around 10:00 AM on a sunny morning and were blown away by the views. The hike to the top of the rock took about 20 minutes from the car and offered a little bit of light scrambling. It was a lot of fun to ascend to the peak and look down on the cars and lake below. This wouldn't be the best place for people afraid of heights, but you can choose how far you're willing to go and still enjoy the experience even if you're somewhat conservative.

The parking area was not tough to find, but you need to know where to look. When you're driving towards the tunnel from the south, look for a sign on the right that says "Cave Rock Estates" and turn in front of this sign. Follow the road uphill until it curves and leads to a woodchip area. This is where you park and begin your hike. There are signs that say "no parking" but these refer to the area just beyond the woodchips. If you stay on the chips you'll be good to go.

This is a great little hike that offers a lot of fun in a short time. If you're driving through the area, be sure to plan an hour or so to visit the top of the rock. You'll be very happy that you did.

From daytime to sunset, The MS Dixie / Lake Tahoe Cruises offer spectacular views, fresh air and an unforgettable journey.

I took my parents on the M.S. Dixie II and we had a great time. The views are amazing and the audio tour is really interesting. We enjoyed the food served on board - chicken sandwich with fries and a bowl of chili. We went from Zephyr Cove to Emerald Bay and back again. The bathrooms are decent and no line ups...only line up was for the bar. I’d take other visitors here!

Bleu Wave Cruise

Lake Tahoe Bleu Wave Cruise

Reviewed By Jill W

My husband and I took the 12-2:30 Bleu Wave lunch cruise boat with Captain Brian. I chose this boat because for about the same price, you also got a sandwich and 2 alcoholic beverages, so it seemed like the better deal. We were expecting narration throughout most of the tour, however, we only got about 5 min total, and if you're on the front of the boat, you can't hear it. We headed straight from the marina to Emerald Bay, sat there for about 30 minutes, then headed straight back. I asked Brian if he ever took the boat anywhere besides the bay, such as over to Rubicon cliffs just around the corner, and he replied "It just depends on how I feel". I guess he didn't feel like doing anything else today. Before we got back to the marina, we pulled up alongside one of the captain's friends boats that belonged to another company. He docked the boats together, gave all the guys on the other boat a shot of Crown, chit chatted for a few minutes while we all just sat there watching, and then took us back to the marina. Throughout the entire return trip, the ship's passengers (about 15-20) all looked incredibly bored, were playing on their phones, or had gone inside to eat. The pictures taken on board couldn't be printed for us due to a printer jam, and there were no other options offered. For $65 each, we were extremely disappointed with the entire trip. I wish we had gone with another boat company so we could've seen more than just Emerald Bay and learned a little about the lake.

Once you are able to navigate finding a place to park it is just a short hike to the falls and the bridge. Highly recomend bringing your camera and water and continuing the hike up to the lake above. Lots of breathtaking views and photo opportunities along the way. The hike is not all that bad and definitely worth the effort!

Although the northern Nevada alumni of USC was at the beach partying yesterday, we still found a shady spot where the Davis extended family could enjoy the beach and water. The beach was packed with people, tents, umbrellas, etc. The water was cool, but so crisp and clean. The fee to get in was ten dollars. With a disabled placard, we found parking near our spot. There was a person driving an electric cart to help transport people from their car to the beach area. The bathrooms were not clean and there was no toilet paper by the middle of the afternoon. I did say something to the help, but I do not know if it was ever taken care of. Paddle boards, kayaks, and paddle boats were available for rent. Could bring your own float toys. Bring your sun screen,. Nevada skies rarely get clouds.
