Worcester (/ˈwʊstər/ WUUS-tər, locally [ˈwʊstə] ( listen)) is a city and the county seat of Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. Named after Worcester, England, as of the 2010 Census the city's population was 181,045, making it the second most populous city in New England after Boston. Worcester is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) west of Boston, 50 miles (80 km) east of Springfield and 40 miles (64 km) north of Providence. Due to its location in Central Massachusetts, Worcester is known as the "Heart of the Commonwealth", thus, a heart is the official symbol of the city. However, the heart symbol may also have its provenance in lore that the mass-produced Valentine's Day card was invented in the city.

Great little shops to stroll thru: a framers market and then a bakery/snadwich type place and we went on a Saturday AM and they had a duo performing as well. What's not to like

Redemption Rock Brewing Co. is a craft brewery, taproom, and cafe in Worcester, Mass. We make beer for people. "Beer for people" means that we brew beer not just for beer nerds, but also for casual fans, and traditionalists and experimentalists alike. We aim to provide high-quality, fun beer in all its forms. Also, as a registered Benefit Corporation (B Corp), we’re dedicated to working for the community. It’s an essential part of our business, and we’re continually looking for new ways to support local organizations, partner with local businesses, and be a better kind of employer and corporate citizen. Finally, we’ve designed the Redemption Rock taproom to be the ultimate community gathering space. It’s bright, comfortable, and colorful and serves as both a coffeehouse and a bar. Visit us with your friends, come meet new friends, or even hold your private event here. We hope to see you soon.
Every time I go to Redemption Rock, I have a great time. They are always accommodating if I ask to try a beer before ordering and it seems like they always have something new on tap. There's plenty of space and tons of board/party games. They do not offer much food but do allow you to bring your own. They also pride themselves on offering their employees a living wage, so all tips are donations towards select charities!

This central Massachusetts museum houses a collection that includes works by European and American artists as well as Asian, Greek, and Roman art.
After 18 months of virtual museum visits I have finally made a real trip to the museum where I spent four hours. It is funny how I travel all over the world and miss out on spectacular treasures in my own neck of the woods. So today I ventured to the Worcester Museum of Fine Arts (40 minutes drive from my house) and enjoyed its fantastic collection of paintings, antiquities and decorative art. The museum owns phenomenal El Greco’s “Mary Magdalene”, Claude Monet’s “Waterloo Bridge” and yet another version of his “Lilies”, this time in pale pink, stunning “Golfe Juan” by Paul Signac, Gauguin’s “Brooding Woman”... just to name a few... Some of the most remarkable treasures of this fantastic museum are its huge mosaics from Antioch (the lost ancient city) and its meticulously rebuilt 12th century Chapter House of the Benedictine Priory of Saint John at Le Bas-Nueil. Also, I was lucky to see two very interesting exhibitions: “The Art of Kimono” and “What the Nazis Stole from Richard Neumann”. The latter presents 14 paintings and sculptures from the once extensive art collection of Dr. Richard Neumann. They were regained by Dr.Neumann’s family after 75 years of tireless efforts to get them back.
