The first time I visited Marietta Square was in October 2017 and it was just great! Lots of nice shops and funky restaurants. My wife and I visited again last week (March 2018) and, well, we were surprised. First, most places don't open until 10am or later. Second, they seem to have ripped out a lot of trees and are remodelling the side walk along one whole side of the square - its a big building site. Also we noticed that a few of the shops that were there last year have closed down and are empty. So, all in all, a bit disappointing to what it was. Hopefully by Summer 2018 it will look a lot better - but in March 2018 it was, like, eh... meh.

My daughter is a cross country runner and this park offers a great place to practice. It is in a great location and we feel safe with her running there. Great place for families to enjoy!

Hidden among the trees in Historic Roswell, Georgia lies the elegant home constructed by one of the town's founding fathers, Archibald Smith. In 1838, the Smith family and nearly 30 of their slaves left their two plantations in St. Marys, along the southern coast of Georgia, to make a new start with some 300 acres of cotton farmland north of the Roswell Town Square. What this well-to-do 19th Century farming family did not realize when they constructed their home was that it would be preserved by their descendants as an untouched treasure of southern history. For over 150 years, the Smith's Plantation Home has stood the test of time as The Civil War was brought to its front steps, and all around it, the small mill village of Roswell erupted into a bustling metropolitan suburb. Perfectly preserved are the Smiths two-story farm house, complete with outbuildings, including slave quarters, a cook house, corn crib, barn, carriage house, well, and spring house. Three generations of the Archibald Smith family lived in this home and saved all of their belongings, large and small, important and trivial, broken or whole. The home and grounds have become one of the best examples of architectural, cultural, and historical interpretation found in the region.

We live outside the state of Georgia, so these homes are so different and very wonderful compared to attractions in our state. This was the first home to tour and we were treated to a personal tour that was very informative and always interesting. The history of the family and the original plantation was a part of the tour and then the actual tour of the house and grounds. All of it was a wonderful 2 hours of our day. Great parking in the City parking lot... and a great tour guide. This is an attraction that is a must see in the Atlanta area.

My original visit was for the burial of my father. It was both heart-wrenching and beautiful. The staff takes wonderful care of this site. Upon entry, there is a long winding road that opens up to the beautiful hills of the veteran's cemetery. The flowers are always fresh, the grass is always cut and neat and the property is well maintained as it should be in honor of our veterans. It is always calming, peaceful, and beautiful when I visit my father at the Georgia National Cemetery.

I was on the hunt for Rainbow sandals. I had dreaded going to Town Center to get them because of time and traffic. Then I remembered that the outlet mall had a Journeys store. I walked right in and ended up purchasing other items also. So convenient!

Gorgeous architecture, huge pools, great playground style of pool, nice people working there. I swim here three times a week early in the morning. Usually there is a swim team swimming but the facility is so huge they are not in the way. Very nice lifeguards and very nice people at the check-in desk. Very clean. Thrilled that it is so close! Worth visiting and checking out. Even offers yoga! Great family place! Get your kids active!

We've taken many foreign guests to the mountain and every single one was impressed by the visitor center. The way civil war history is displayed is very succinct and absolutely superb. The movie is a must.
Well, of course the mountain was waiting patiently in the mean time. Let me put it this way, it's not wheelchair friendly. The walk is absolutely stunning, but strenuous. Flip flops won't do it. If you payed attention at the visitor center you'd be amazed at how the confederates were able to drag their canons all the way up to the top of the mountain. I hope they had what you had, ample water.
The top of the mountain offers a scenic panorama of the surrounding area. If you're up to it, you can climb further up to the canons and the next hill.
You can either go down the same path, or take the paved road down.
Just climbing the mountain taking the dirt path makes the view so much more rewarding.
Oh, by the way, parking is a problem, at least at the location itself, so you'll see people parked along side the road.

I'm not the best 'mountain biker'. If you are not seasoned at this, I suggest you just do the Mosquito Flats BEGINNER one. They have a 2nd trail that veers off from it with a rating of Beginner + but it's much different. A lot more cliffs, up hill, sharp turns. I was surprised by the difference between the two ratings. It's a fun place. And in October, gorgeous! This place is free to visit. A donation box is on site to help with maintaining it.

Walking, biking, jogging, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, pictures picnics and more. This is a great little nature park along a small river flowing out to Lake Allatoona.

There is a short paved loop around the park and a nice hiking trail out the back that loops through the woods. Picnic tables both in the sun and under pavilions, nice benches and 2 children's playgrounds for younger and older children.
