Had a wonderful weekend in this little piece of history. We loved our stay because we were not searching for ultra modern conveniences and are not phased by the bits of quirkiness than come with a property like this but if one is picky about those things, they might restrain from making a booking. For history lovers, wine lovers and quirky accepters, you will love staying in the cottage and stopping by the cellar door to share a chat with Peter and try his wines. Being dog friendly with a large space is super useful as well as you can easily organise your trip around this. Thanks Peter and Jane!

Wollombi Endeavour Museum

Lovely little museum that provides a great overview of what life was like in the olden days as well as the history of wollombi. Entry is so cheap ($2/adult, children free) and the gentleman who was manning the desk was very friendly and provided us with a brief overview of the history of wollombi which was great as it provided us with context as we looked at the beautifully displayed exhibits. There was a room where our entry activated a voice and verbal 'play' about the inhabitants and piano! so entertaining! although the space was very compact, it was full of information and lovely exhibits! highly recommend!

Wollombi Village Vineyard

As part of our bike trip we had planned to drop in. I like the fact that it was a vineyard/cellar door within 300 mtrs from the town centre. Was not disappointed. A smaller range of wines, but that does not mean lack of quality. Very reasonable prices. And nonna's heritage shines through with the Grappa's & Limoncellas.
