Inniswood Metro Gardens

I try to visit Inniswood a couple of times every week to take a walk and take photographs of the changing scenery and flowers. The staff does a great job at maintaining the various areas and the beautiful flowers. Weekends are always very busy, but weekdays can be quiet at times although even weekdays can be busy. I can always find some quiet spots though. My favorite areas are the Boardwalk Trail, the Spring Run Trail and the secret Garden.

Highbanks Metro Park

Reviewed By shankar R - Westerville, Ohio

Anyone who visits me is soon taken here to the park for a brisk walk. It's a several hundred acre oasis in the city. Just off of Rt23 and 750, it spans all the way down to the Olentangy river which forms its Western border. The park is a year round attraction with long walking trails, play areas for kids, picnic spots and more. In the winter, there is even a sledding area set up when snow permits. The visitor center near the entrance has some well set up exhibits about the park and the habitat it represents in Ohio. As with the many other metro parks dotting the city, this one is a treasure. Visit often and leave without a trace. Did I mention bike and pet trails?

Creekside Park

This beautiful five-acre park is the centerpiece of historic Olde Gahanna. Best known for its lovely waterfall, the park invites visitors to stroll the walkways, enjoy a nostalgic picnic, take a paddle boat ride, fish, or wade in the delightful water of the meandering Big Walnut Creek.

Whether it's special events that are held in the area (Corvette and Custom Car show, Blues Fest, Creepside, etc), or just a free live music event, it's a cool place to go.
We walk there and hang out, get some dinner, walk around, have some ice cream, watch the ducks swim around, just relax in general.

Could use a few more restaurants in the area just to add a little more variety, but overall, still a quant little area.

This is a great place to walk solo or with friends or to walk your dog. You can walk across the dam to a park, down steps overlooking the spillway and the water feature is pretty spring, summer and fall. There is a walking and bike path along the west side of the dam that goes a couple miles and is well used

Blendon Woods Park

Reviewed By ThreeWiseMen1998 - Columbus Ohio

This park has horrible upkeep considering the park system brings in 25 mil/yr. The trails are muddy as the water sits on them. Fully understandable except this is an urban city park with plenty of money to fix the standing water problem. I would not recommend hiking anytime its not a drought.

Not allowed to have pets anywhere except the pet area which is a swamp from Jan to June.

Too many regulations to enjoy yourself in nature. If you're about freedom and enjoying nature I would visit another park.

Char-Mar Ridge Preserve

Reviewed By Paul S - Marion

Char-Mar Ridge is located just east of hwy 3 a couple miles south of Sunbury. On a December weekend, the parking lot was almost full and we had lots of company on the Glacier Ridge Trail. Some people passed us more than once as we made our way around the loop. This is a good place for the map challenged. The trail is a lollipop with only one way to go and return to the parking lot so you literally cannot get lost. The only confusing thing is that the trail distance is sometimes listed a 1.5 miles but the park brochures and signs say 1.7, which is actually correct. Distances are marked every quarter mile and you pass marker 1.5 just before you return to the parking lot. Lots of people were walking dogs here. A stroller with all terrain wheels would be okay, but if you have a double stroller or a toddler in a back pack, be aware there are several steep hills along the way. The first one is just across the bridge as you approach the beginning of the loop. The only stairs are two flights up to the wildlife blind but you do not have to climb those to complete the trail. This is definitely not wheelchair friendly--instead try the flat, paved Ohio to Erie Trail which runs along highway 3 and passes through the western edge of the park but does not intersect with the Glacier Ridge Trail. Flush toilets and seasonal drinking fountains are available at the parking lot.

First, let me say that this was our first time in an escape room, but nonetheless we were so impressed with the attention to detail.

Our experience was in the Egyptian room where we explored an ancient tomb trying desperately to unlock the secrets that would allow us to escape. This room was designed for up to 12 was explorers, but my wife and I tackled it alone. We failed miserably, but put up a good fight and had a ball in the process.

This is a family-friendly experience that is closely monitored. It featured several other rooms with different themes but including Area 51, Excalibur, and others.

The CEO, Norm, was the perfect host and you could feel the humble pride in his explanation of his handiwork. We felt totally at ease at all times.

This facility is able to accommodate both large groups and as few as one couple. The pricing is very reasonable and provides excellent value.

I can not recommend eXcape Columbus highly enough. GO!!! You will have a great time!

Oh... for the record, we WILL be back!

Local craft brewer that just moved and expanded its facility. The tap room has a large space for a group to gather with decent hours. For craft brew fans their beers are "big" meaning they are higher on the ABV side. As far as food goes, nothing on site though they do have food trucks on occasion, you could order from a local pizza shop or bring you own food in. Variety of high top tables, long picnic type tables and a small bar area. worth a visit.
