As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 8,097, reflecting a decline of 161 (-1.9%) from the 8,258 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 568 (+7.4%) from the 7,690 counted in the 1990 Census. It is the home of Monmouth University.

Today, we went to this museum on the Asbury Park boardwalk not knowing what to expect and, boy, did we have a great time! We are not pinball players, but thought this would be fun and it was. Retro pinball machines, arcade games, skeeball, hockey, pong, vintage TV shows on the screens, and "kids" of all ages having a ball. It was a cold, rainy day today, so I don't know what it looks like in nice weather, but since this is not yet and summer season, it was quite cozy! The entrance is on the boardwalk side and it is packed with old, well maintained machines. Above the machines, there is brief history of the manufacturer and the history of the machine and what its goals for play are. You pay a one-day rate and you can play all day with the one admission. It was fun trying our luck from machine to machine. My husband loved an old vintage baseball pinball machine that tallied runs, hits,etc. and had little men "running" from base to base. There is a little "café" inside that serves basic snack foods, but there are also real restaurants nearby. The museum in a little "strip" near the Stone Pony. Don't know what parking is like during the "season" but now street and lot parking were available. I can't tell you the last time we had so much fun and it was fun watching others having fun as well. The one day pass is $25 but that is for unlimited play with in and out privileges. Tom, the manager, was very nice as was the staff in general. Highly recommend for you, your friends, your grandkids, etc. It's like a trip to a time where life was simpler and just fun.

Recently took advantage of an Academy award movie series they were offering. I was really impressed with how the theatre has been transformed. There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house - décor was really well done, I look forward to going back.

I grew up minutes from the track but never actually went to a race until recently. I had no idea what I was missing. I attended the track for the first time last fall for a jack o'lantern festival. I had such a great time, that I went to two more festivals, a seafood festival and a wine and chocolate festival in the months after. There is a picnic area and you can bring your own food and alcohol in. However, during the festivals, they bring in awesome and delicious food trucks! They have several places inside where attendees can buy alcohol too. For us first-time horse race watchers, they have a tent where you can learn how to bet. This information is also in the program that you can purchase at the entrance. The races are spaced far enough apart that you can get food, more drinks, and place bets between each race. I look forward to my next event at this historic track! If you bring your own water bottle in, you can refill for free at the water fountains.

I went with my daughter and two grandchildren, ages 9 and 6. The waves were too rough for them to be comfort in the ocean, but they enjoyed both walking the beach and digging in the sand. The playground was a definite hit! The bathroom was clean and there are outside showers.

Kane's facility is enormous compared to your run-of-the-mill craft brewery. Beer quality and selection doesn't disappoint. Lagers, IPAs, Stouts. They have a beer that will fit your style.

I live close to a few beaches and this is one of my favorites! Ocean Grove's family friendly atmosphere extends to the beach and its boardwalk. While it can get crowded during the summer months, I always have a relaxing time when I am here.

This is a venue at Monmouth University, which is a gym turned into a temporary venue that is used for concerts and touring shows and it holds about 4,000 people. We bought tickets to see Crosby, Stills, and Nash. We've been to this venue before, without any problems. First off, we had to pay $10 to park the car, and it is on the grounds of a university. That's a lot of nerve! $5 would be asking enough! Then, the tickets said that the show started at 6:30PM. We arrived a little after 6:00, parked the car, and proceeded to the building only to find the place locked up tight with a sign that the doors open at 6:30. Then we waited around for almost a half an hour outside, and finally at 6:30 the large group of security that was standing around finally opened the doors. We found our seat, with the help of what appeared to be at least 100 ushers, and sat, and sat, and sat until the show finally began at twenty minutes to eight!!! Why print 6;30 on the tickets??? Then we were told that if we wanted to use the restroom during the show, we had to walk up to the top of the bleachers and climb over a row of about 25 people to get to the restroom because we weren't allowed on the floor when the show began. Well, there was an intermission and we got to use the stairs leading up to the facilities, but the place was dark and the stairs were only lit on the risers as you were ascending. Well, PS - the stairs were not lit on the way down and my husband took a fall down. Then when it was all over, we had to wait in a pile up of cars for another half an hour before we could exit. Thank goodness the band was excellent!!!! They put on a great performance. Last year we say Train here and we don't remember the tickets stating the wrong time. Just call before you go, and make sure that you stop at the ATM first and grab some cash for the steep parking fee!!!!

So for Valentine's Day my girlfriend decided to think outside the box. What could be better than hatchet throwing and byob, not much right, well second thought probably a lot. Ok to start it's extremely crowded and reservations are necessary and better be made or you going to be out of luck. So what it is a big Warehouse space with different hatchet throwing cages, after signing your life away and a quick tutorial you are left on your own to throw. Contrary to popular belief it takes you a bit to get the hang of it and honestly after I finally got the hang of it I was pretty bored for the rest of my hour. If you want food you are also going to need to order that, there seems to be a small refreshment stand but no one told me anything about it or asked if I wanted anything. So for $40 you get two hatchets, two wood targets to throw at and not much of anything else. I also noticed no heat or ac ducts but a lot of ceiling fans so I'm sure in the summer months it's probably a bit warm. My overall verdict why not a bad idea, it needs some major refinement, plus for $40 I'd rather go to some bar with a dart board, order a pitcher of beer and have some fun.

Some of the shops and the restaurants along the boardwalk are ok and other so-so. Be prepared to (1) pay to ge on the beach (2) pay beach prices; and (3) note it is a well patrolled subdued atmosphere. Both the beach and the boardwalk are wide but nothing special. Nice for a weekday stroll.

Generally attend three or more performances a season. Easy access location with the opportunity to see productions at an affordable cost. The cast members differ from show to show, although many return during the course of the season. The facility (large theatre and separate small stage) allows for a variety offerings and for unusual/creative direction. Just attended "The Merry Wives of Windsor" with a three person cast playing multiple rolls. In prior years we saw "Macbeth" directed by Teller (of Penn and Teller fame) who incorporated magic in displaying the deadly dagger. Each season there has been an August Wilson play and there is always something for the kids at Christmas time. A fantastic addition to our community
