The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center

Reviewed By FloridaSunDevil - West Palm Beach, United States

We have lived in Palm Beach County for many years but this is our first visit to the equestrian center. It was beautiful and fascinating. I never expected it to be so large with the competition areas, practice areas, shops, restaurants and barns. We visited during what they call Hunter Week. We were a group tour on a Thursday morning with our community. The horses are both beautiful and graceful as they jumped over their obstacles ridden by their costumed riders. We had a very good buffet lunch in a large tented area. The admission is free although certain preferred seating has a cost. On-site parking is free except for Saturday nights. We have already made plans to attend with another couple this coming Saturday evening.

This is an amazing place! So many well cared for animals that you could get up close to and feed and pet. We petted a porcupine, fed a baby sloth, fed lemurs bananas on a stick. Great tour and now where else I’ve found you can get so close to animals. Well worth the $20.00 fee. Small group of about 8 so everyone could see and hear.

We are fairly well traveled and were blown away by the tour. No it is not a large collection. But to have a tour given by someone who has actually dug our fossils is incredible. Worth the trip!!

Wonderful place to watch high goal polo and to people watch. Have fun “stomping divets” during half time while sipping on a glass of complementary sparkling wine or eating an ice cream bar.

Wellington Environmental Preserve

Reviewed By Lisatimm - Wellington, United States

I live very close to this park so I use it often . I either walk , run or ride my bike . When I bike , I usually ride on the outer loop first ... It’s a sandy gravel equestrian trail ( Aprox 2 miles ) , so , I have to work a bit harder ! The inner loop is asphalt and has a few wooden bridges . The highlight of the park is the tower ... it gives and outstanding view of the entire preserve . Lots of birds , Rabbits and alligators . There is a restroom at the beginning of the trail and a few scattered in the preserve . It is well marked , so no fear of getting lost . If your looking for alligators - I have seen them most at parking lot 2 , near the water locks .
