The Yarra Valley truly starts at Rob Dolan Wines. Only 30 minutes from Melbourne, our dog-friendly winery is the perfect place to enjoy cheese and wine, and learn about the Yarra Valley from our Wine Specialists in the Cellar Door. Rob's philosophy is all about making wine with character; wine with depth which reflects our unique terroir. You'll taste from vineyard sites across the Valley, and learn how location impacts the perfect drop. Visit us for a wine tasting; order some cheese and wine to enjoy while overlooking the vineyard; or learn about pairing with our cheese + wine experience (available in both vegan + dairy cheese). If you're lucky, you might meet @merlot_thewinedog - our Chief Cuddle Officer - he loves making friends with our visitors! Please note a tasting fee of $5 applies (redeemable with purchase). Bookings are required for groups of 5 - 15 people, this can be done online. Sorry no Hens, Bucks, 18th or 21st parties.

This is a beaut spot that most Melbournians I've talked to don't even know is there! It's great for a relaxing swim or float in the river or exploring the rocky tunnel (water shoes recommended!) A great pastime seems to be the kids tossing balls up in to the tunnel and catching again after it bobs down the mini waterfall. Also a BIG TIP from a comical misadventure I ended up on with my children (that could have been disastrous!) The highlight of jumping in with a tube and peacefully floating around the loop (bend) in the river for an hour was recommended to me so we came all prepared with 4 inner tubes. What I failed to do was double-check which side of the 'bend' we got in!! *Definitely DON'T get in on the left carpark or West side of the loop!!!!* I mistakenly led my children around the river for almost an hour, in the wrong direction, before realising we were lost. After traversing some fun gentle Class 1 (or less rapids) we eventually ran into a large tree blocking the river at a path exiting out to a campground, Longridge Park I believe. Some kind souls gave us a ride back to Pound Bend. A 10 min drive but would have been a 40 min walk with no shoes!

A good walk for a few tracks around the reserve. They follow the Yarra river to amazing views and a lot of wildlife

I walk this track regularly and always think how lucky we are to have gorgeous places like this to roam in. It never fails to please, even the coffee at the end is good too!
