The Military Aviation Museum has planes and hangars from WWl and WWll. Unfortunately, there aren't very many and the entire upstairs is empty. It might be interesting during an event, but it was mediocre for a family visit. The prices were reasonable, but could've been better spent. Pro: The volunteers are really helpful, although they seemed busy at times.

I loved this beach. Usually there are a lot of sand flies in the VB area but I didn’t have a problem when I drove up to Sandbridge. It has a nice little beach town that I loved seeing!

So we had to pick the week when it's COLD and I do mean cold high of 7 but sunny. We walked down Atlantic Blvd to about 31st Street due to it being so windy on the boardwalk, then we cut over to the boardwalk to walk back as the wind was at our backs much better. Watched teams playing blooper ball on the beach, a few people out and about. Clean looking for a place to grab a hot coffee with maybe Bailies no nothing, ended up going into Calypso's to rest our feet. Nice clean boardwalk.

I walked seven miles from Backbay into False Cape on the trails, then walked six miles on the beach back to my car. The sand dunes are huge. This is such a serene place. Miles of dunes and beach as far as the eye can see.

We went for what we thought was a 6 mile loop but we missed a turned and it turned into a 12 mike loop! The park is beautiful the marshes along the wooded path create a beautiful ecosystem the cypress trees are stunning the sounds of frogs and birds it was lovely. The lake is also a stunning view and it’s not very hilly so it’s perfect for a long hike.

This was my first time visiting Virginia Beach and it was wonderful. Although the weather was freezing it made it hard to actually enjoy the beach but when it warmed up it was a pleasant stay. Will be back in warmer weather

We went on the Neptune Festival day so it was crowded and I couldn't really give a fair review for this place, but the Festival was cool with all sorts of art and the statue was really incredible. It's a HUGE statue and I kind of wish I could have a miniature of it for my house.

Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach is located right along highway 264. The park is known for the large hill that sits in front of a large pond. There are running trails that circle the hills and pond. The park also features two play grounds. One that is very large with climbing boulders, playset, swings, and restroom facilities. There is also a medium size skate park as well as a full half pipe there. The top of the hill is a great place to fly a kite or to work on some hill training or stair climbing. The longest loop around the park is probably around 1.8 miles. There are also excercise stations located around the running trail. The park is well maintained.

The monument square is located right off the beach so it's within strolling distance from all the major hotels. I served in the navy, particularly on two carriers and I can say the entire history of this service is well represented. It's a must visit for those who have ever served on a carrier. Leave yourself a half hour to look at all the exhibits and plaques, an hour if you want to read everything.

As a Life Member it was nice to be back at the A.R.E for another conference. I attended the conference on Friday night and things were going well until I was rudely interrupted by an employee by the name of Renee.
I was intensely focused on the program and was occasionally checking my iPhone to see if the day before purchased spare battery was indeed re-charging my phone. {it wasn't, I needed to unplug and plug it back in again, who knew?]
Moments later, I get this lady interrupting my listening to the speaker, stating "Are you recording this?"
I had no clue what she talking about and so I said "what?"
She said "Are you recording this?"
I said "no" and she went away.
For the record "NO! I WAS NOT RECORDING THE EVENT"
There was a hour left to the presentation but I was never able to regain my focus on the presentation. i returned the following morning for another presentation and was still unable to get back in the groove.
I went back to my hotel, checked out and went home, I have the expectation that when I attend a event at the A.R.E it will be a peaceful sanctuary away from home. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars in the price of the conference, hotel and other cost to be annoyed/harassed at a conference.
I follow the rules of society to a fault! If you are coming to me to assist me in my spiritual growth, GREAT!!! THANK YOU!!!, otherwise PLEASE leave me alone PERIOD!
Of course, the million dollar question is "What was I to learn from this experience" Still listening for the answers to that question.
BOTTOM LINE: The A.R.E. has been a great resource for many, many years in providing me with the knowledge needed to grow spiritually. I am indeed most grateful to all the dedicated professionals at the A.R.E.
However, I currently have no desire to return to A.R.E & will be reviewing if my charitable donations should be redirected elsewhere, the answers will come.
