We've been to many zoos and animal parks and enjoyed the San Diego Zoo Safari Park immensely. All the keepers/staff were eager to help in giving directions or detailing an animal's behavior. Of all the parks in SD, we found the staff in this park to be superb in attitude and knowledge.
TIPS:
1. Don't miss the cheetah run and be sure to not stand where the trucks will enter. Across that area is the best for photography. Especially at the end when the cheetahs get a snack.
2. For the safari tram, sit on the left side to be closest to the animals.
3. Tram ride in the early evening is best as the animals are most active and sometimes getting fed.
4. The small critter shows are informative and let you see the animals literally an arms length away.
5. The gift shops have some unique items not found in the other SD parks.
Easily walkable for any ages. Even my 80 year old Mother and 9 year old niece had no problems ambling around this bite-sized park.

This is the perfect park to check out the best views you can find in the entire county. You can see on a clear day from Mt. Laguna to Catalina Island and all of downtown San Diego. By far a great location to soak up the views and check out the sunset!!!

We just returned from another visit to Harrahs Southern California. Harrahs has become our favorite Southern California Resort! We went for my wife’s birthday and tried their restaurant Fiore for the first time. I recommend making a reservation in advance because the last time we were there they weren’t taking walk-ins, we arrived on time and were seated right away in a booth which I would recommend. Our server was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. We shared a shrimp cocktail then shared the house salad which was fresh and delicious Get this! I had a New York Strip and it was cooked exactly as I asked plus 2 sides I chose a baked potato and asparagus. We also had a bottle of wine. Worth the $$$. We also gambled quite a bit and came home with money.

Prepare for a great adventure on the Longest Zipline in California. If you are into Extreme Sports or Camping this is the place for you! Pauma Valley is now home to California’s longest zipline, the La Jolla Zip Zoom, which is located on the La Jolla Indian Campground. The foothills of the Palomar Mountain range have been a vacation destination since the La Jolla band of Luiseno Indians, who have lived in the area for thousands of years and are one of five California Luiseno tribes, opened a campground on their reservation there in the 1930’s. Now, in addition to renting a tire tube for splashing down the San Luis Rey river, guests can fly down the scenic zipline reaching speeds of up to 55 mph. About the La Jolla Zip Zoom Plan to spend 2.5 hours on a guided tour that includes four ziplines measuring a total of 6273 feet. The four courses range from 300 feet to 2500 feet in length. The side-by-side lines allow you to experience thrills next to a companion. Technology is state-of-the-art and is safe to zipline even in the rain (though wind and other extreme weather conditions may require cancellation of tours). A good ziplining tour isn’t just about thrills. Guests of the La Jolla Zip Zoom will learn from guides about the Pauma Valley, the La Jolla Indian Reservation and other tidbits. What to Wear Ziplining •Closed-toed shoes that can’t fall off your feet. Flip flops are a no-no •Comfortable shorts or pants •Helmets are provided so there’s no need for a hat •Lots of sunscreen •Sunglasses •A GoPro or other camera that you can attach via a wrist or chest strap (for example) and not worry about dropping or banging it on something It is also advisable to tie long hair back so that it’s not in your face at 55 mph. Excellent experience if you are in the San Diego area. The staff were very friendly and took safety very seriously. Bookings were well spaced out, so you didn't feel like you were being rushed in and out. They allow you to take your camera equipment up with you so long as you realize it's at your own risk that you bring it. If you bring a Go Pro, they have the required attachment points for it.
This zipline has an automated braking system at the end, and if you follow instructions, you will find this experience pretty much effortless. The drive up to the site is beautiful. It's on an Indian reservation, so the gas station at the mouth of the entrance is a great bonus savings too. Thank you for a wonderful experience for our group of 9.

This will surprise you if you think you're going to a typical craft brewery tasting room. This is a really nice restaurant with outstanding food, most of it Asian inspired, although not traditional by any means. Beer is good too with a strong emphasis on IPAs. Has a nice gift shop. Indoor and outdoor seating.

If you have been to any other halloween pumpkin patch, don't expect anything to blow you away! If you care to make the drive be prepared for most of the San Diego County to joon you. Pumpkins are cheaper at the grocery store and the activities are over priced. Don't also expect anything at the store to actually be from the Bates Nut Farm, they are packaged for Bates.
Now I can say I have been there and done that...

If you have the opportunity to visit Nurtured by Nature, DO IT! The owners are genuine and accommodating. In addition to the fun activities, I learned about the animals we were visiting with as well. We visited with a sloth, a paca, held an armadillo, fed and pet a porcupine and lemur. We had fun play time with several baby otters and had about an hour of pool time with adult otters. This was such a memorable experience. I forgot I was a 32 year old adult and giggled like a little girl all day long!

What a winery. They have beautiful tasting room with all kinds of neat Knick knacks for sell. Clothing, food, chilled wines and a outdoor area to nosh and drink wine. Food trucks and entertainment. But the wines were the let down. Maybe it’s because we went to two other wineries prior to visiting Orfila which had some of the best Ramona/Escondido had to offer. The wines in one form or the other did not impress. We bought 6 tastes. The Viognier held promise as it filled the mouth but disappoints on the way down. It seemed to finish a bit short. The two Chardonnays were okay but for the price they were not worth it. The Lotus was a nice wine but seemed a bit flat. The rose really is a version of white zinfandel. For a first time wine drinker this is the wine to buy. The only red we liked was the Montepulciano. It was a nice wine. A bit tart but nice fruit. This is not the best representative of the Ramona/Escondido area wineries.
