This venue is absolutely gorgeous. One of Warner Brothers theaters from the 1950's originally a movie house. Now provides community theater, travelling professional shows, big name concerts, opera on the big screen, Nutmeg Ballet performances, a terrific attraction in downtown Torrington.

Wright's Barn is extremely easy to find. It is less than a quarter of a mile off of Route 4. It has two levels packed with antiques and a café. The café is decorated with several stunning vintage kitchen tables and chairs for customers to sit at and enjoy their food. The customer service in Wright's Barn is top notch. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. They were lovely to chat with. Wright's Barn offers furniture, glassware, china, collectibles, jewelry, and artwork. There are 40 vender spaces and they are opened on Saturday and Sunday from 10-4:30pm. Lovely place for anyone interested in antiques. I would suggest at least an hour to be able to go through the whole building. Enjoy.

The New Brunswick atmosphere gives treasure hunters a truly authentic buying experience.

Housed in the former Brunswick sporting goods factory (skates, bowling balls, etc.), this building is host to dozens of vendors of mostly vintage items, which we love. The vendors on-site in their booths, are sociable and friendly and happy to answer any questions. I made a few purchases, a vintage washboard, folding rulers, and old yardsticks (I upcycle vintage items into contemporary home décor.) Be prepared to make an offer in case a vendor doesn't have any pieces priced. Hot beverages and cold water/soda were available at a reasonable price. There is a $1.00 admission charge collected at the entrance. The space is huge, and there's room for several dozen more booths on the main floor. Bathrooms are located on the vacant second floor, up a flight of stairs at the front wall. We''re already planning a return trip in the spring. If you love flea markets, you'll love this one.

The Museum is open again and well organized for a safe fun visit during the pandemic. The staff were welcoming and parents and grandparents were enjoying their leisurely visit. Some of the hard to clean exhibits and props were stored away until safer times. There is still a nice morning or afternoon for fun and exploration. Take a snack because the museum has no vending or snack bar. If you live in the area or visit often a family membership is a bargain.

We hiked the Walcatt trail around the Pond. It was an easy trail, as we are beginners and had two young kids with us (5 and 7). It took us two hours to complete the hike as we did make frequent stops near the water. It was shaded most of the way and had a nice breeze. You need to always watch where you are going as there are many tree roots and rocks to look out for!
