Located on Salsette Island, Thane is a suburb of Mumbai. It is surrounded by the Yeoor and Parsik Hills. The suburb is divided by the Thane creek that drains into the Arabian Sea. Although the culture is predominantly Maharashtrian, one can see influences of the cosmopolitan culture of Mumbai as well. Thane (Thana) was the terminus of the first railway in India built from Mumbai in 1853 Thane is known for its numerous beautiful lakes, the most famous being the Masunda Talao, also known as Talao Pali.

Walking through streams, plains and a bit of gradient..a wholesome experience...was surprised to see tiger/sloth bear posters...So this is a true jungle...also saw lots of birds nests...would come back after monsoon for bird watching....a hidden gem close to Mumbai...

I visited from Thane with relatives came from Lucknow.We took local train from Thane to Titwala station. From there auto rickshaw to Mandir, they charge Rs.10 per person for Mandir. This is very old & famous Ganesh mandir, I visit quite frequently. Many people believe is siddh Mandir.

A very nice place to shop, play games and have a nice food. Its situated in thane. Its has a many big brands . During occasions, they have many fun games , concerts in the ground floor. You will really enjoy your time. We have been visiting this place since many time. Its nice to host your birthdays as they have nice outlet where you can enjoy the food. Foodcourt has variety of options.

This is a good option for the residents of Mumbai and nearby. One can reach by own vehicle or by train, for which nearest station is Kelva Road, at a distance of half an hour from Virar. From railway station distance to beach is approx 8 kms. Beach is clean and worth spending time. There are small village fair type shops also, for eating and other small purchases.

Exotic fort with strange pinnacles. This fort looks like a place straight out of Jurassic Park or Avatar, thanks to the strangely shaped pinnacles created by wind erosion over thousands of years. Close to Asangaon railway station on the suburban central railway, it should be on the bucket list of every trekker.

My visit was totally amazing! My family and I sat in some amazing thrilling rides like spinning coaster, worm coaster etc. We also went to the water park! The slides are excellent! The food is finger-licking and the staff is also very kind. Please do visit Tikuji-ni-wadi!
