A very expensive tasting, considering the tasting shack and quantity poured for tasting. For our group of six, also a very slow tasting, as not that much wine to taste, and long intervals...

Very different and very expensive wines, also, so the old truth: asking high prices is not crazy, paying is...

A clear 'Tripadvisor disappointment', as no match for the rating.

Our first stop for wine tasting. There were many other wineries but we picked this one as it seemed a bit smaller than some others. It was really busy (long weekend) but we got in alright and had some really great wines to taste. We especially liked the port dessert wine. Light and sweet but not syrupy at all.

On our tour, we stopped at Leoness Cellars. What a wonderful stop! We tasted eight different wines. Spread over rolling hills, we spent at least two hours! Farming...a way of life! Started in 1970's and in 1989 by Mike Rennie, they focused on the growth of their vineyard operations!

As far as old towns go, I am not impressed. Too much seems contrived. A few nice bars and restaurants. Some cute shops. It's fine, but I wouldn't drive a long way to go there.

Just fell in love with this winery the first time I came here!
Loved the more "relaxed atmosphere" of both the people that work here and chose to come here. The wine tasting room itself might seem a little dark and feel uninviting at first, but your worries are gone once you start communicating with their friendly staff. On a nice day, sitting and sipping their wine at their spacious outside patio can be really relaxing and enjoyable, despite the lack of view. They even sell some deli items like sausages and cheese to go with your wine! A great place to bring your friends who either don't drink much or winery first timers, so they don't feel overwhelmed and can also experience and compare the differences to the larger more commercialized wineries in the area. After all, you can do only so much wine tasting in one day, right? Another plus, their wines are good and are affordable. I especially liked their Sangiovese and purchased a bottle.
Tip: If you are going on a weekday, check their website for the "2 for coupon".

We love Doffo Winery, family owned, nice patio to relax and enjoy a glass and some munchies. Explained to Alex, that we were looking for solid reds in small winery settings. He suggested both Vindimia and Palumbo Family...we prefer small places over the larger wineries. If you feel the same. Check them out!!

Friendly people, great service and nice ambience. When the complex is completed, this will be an incredible venue, but it is already a nice place to visit. They were serving in the wine cave and in Cest la Vie. They also had some great gift items for sale in their shop. Good Wine and Good People, really worth the stop.
